"The demand for liquor at Golden Gate has outpaced the small hotel’s ability to deliver it, and a team of four people carry kegs and boxes of liquor up and down stairs throughout the day due to the lack of storage space. The second floor of the new structure will allow gravity to do the lion’s share of keeping the hooch flowing, and could save the casino $150,000 a year in labor and associated costs."

You win again, gravity.

Apparently, Golden Gate and The D have combined their players club into "Club One"

The golden gate was one of the first places I'd ever been shuffled on, back when I didn't even really know what counting was other than +1 and -1. I have a little bit of a grievance with them... jerks.
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

The only blackjack I've played there was with a coupon. As soon as it paid off, I quit.

My wife and I had our first date at the Golden Gate. She worked for the Las Vegas Advisor website and wanted to learn Blackjack Basic Strategy. We played about two hours of $5 BJ at Golden Gate and then went to dinner at Hugo's.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

I'm even worse. I've got a few hundred in promo chips from there that I just can't be bothered to sit down and use. Just pick them up every month.

I liked the place more before they remodel it a few years ago. The place had more charm. And they had the 99 shrimp cocktails served at the deli where you could listen to a live piano player. Stayed in the hotel in 2004. They had a real room key. And they had SD, 3:2, H17 blackjack. There was no reader and the dealers peeked under their aces. No tacky mediocre looking, barely clothed women gyrating to the crap that often passes for music. Repititous annoying hamsters make better sounds. (Try Emerson Lake and Palmer if you want to listen to music.) The female dealers used to wear long sleeve buttoned to the neck white starched blouses. They looked so sharp, and left a man with his imagination. Wouldn't you want your present wrapped?

I remember playing blackjack at the shoe 15 years ago. Almost all SD, 3:2 games. The place was packed and fun. The coffee shop downstairs had great food. Now Binion's is a tawdry dive.

Binions, just like the Golden Gate, used to be better. But I like the El Cortez. It's actually gotten better over time (but I wouldn't want to stay in a Pavilion room).

I'd offer to take them off your hands, but I'm not in the area.
