My wife and I decided to do some shopping on the strip on Saturday. We ended up parking at Cosmo and walking across to the Miracle Mile Shops. On the way back through Cosmo we decided to sign up for a player's card. As the host was signing me up she went into this rant about how they are an exclusive casino and you cannot use their card at any other properties. I stated, well what about Hard Rock, as I had recently read the following article, http://www.vegaschatter.com/story/2013/3/19/115245/910/vegas-travel/Cosmo+Partners+With+Hard+Rock+Biloxi...+Say+Whaaa%3F%21, about Cosmo partnering with HR (It is an deal with HR Biloxi only). For some reason this was the trigger subject! She stated absolutely not, we would never partner with the HR. I stated, well I don't know the details, but I read an article about it and that she should look it up. She continued to rant about how this was impossible, how the casino heads are transparent with the employees and they would have been made aware of this affiliation if there was any truth to my statements. I simply stated, I don't know the details, but I don't think it is an affiliation with the HR here in LV, and that she should look into it. After receiving my card I had to go to another line to wait for my free swipe. As I am standing in line, only 15ft away from the host, she starts helping another guests and continues her rant stating, I just had a guy tell me we are affiliated with HR, people come in with the craziest made up stories. Now, I am not one to hold my tongue very often, but not having the exact article for reference and not remembering the exact details I decided not to waste my time with her and move on. After my swipe and win of $5 free slot play, I had to wait in another line to have this $5 transferred onto my card. Three lines, $5, and a rude employee. Thanks Cosmo for the wonderful afternoon. It was my pleasure.

You should have done the $100 loss rebate. They don't tell you about it. And, they are affiliated with the Motor City Casino in Detroit as well.

Wow! So many "fails" as they say these days:

1) Why proclaim: "Our card is limited. very, very limited"?

Quote:

She continued to rant about how this was impossible, how the casino heads are transparent with the employees and they would have been made aware of this affiliation if there was any truth to my statements.

2) Never argue with the customer over trivial points. She could have said "I have not been informed about that, sir. You might want to check with the other casino's player club as to the details."

Quote:

Three lines, $5, and a rude employee.

3) It shoudl all be handled in one line. The Golden Nugget does it.

I don't know if this is typical, or whether you ran into a bad employee or what. But it does give the impression of a snooty joint that does you a favor letting you play at their fine establishment.

Agreed! It is definitely the weirdest experience I have had at a player's club.

This. I'm sure they will want me to play 5 quarters of VP to be comped at the bar...if they'd even comp me at all...lol

Fortunately/unfortunately for them, it isn't happening, unless it's for that $100 promo.

Quick question on these types of promotions. What constitutes as a "loss"? If I play and hit say a 500 dollar win and then proceed to get down to +350, have I lost 150 in their eyes or would i need to play until I am -100 overall?
