Quote: NickyDimI'm in the same boat as the thread starter. Currently have 9100 points with 2 months to go. At the rate at which my wife and I accumulate (we play the same card) I need 4 more nights in a CET property. So do we make 2 trips to AC before christmas is the question and from reading this thread I'm still as undecided as ever. I think we will just to experience Diamond club status if even for a year.
If you mostly go to AC, you are much better off at the Borgata in my opinion. To make Black Label level you only need 1000 points. Comps are much more generous, rooms are nicer, players club lounge has much better food and service. The only thing not better is that you cant use your card at other properties.

And that's the biggest reason we still are with CET. We travel to LV multiple times a year.
It doesn't seem too hard either..$10k once a day every month...hell, I do that right now at my home casino (JANugget) and I only get stuff from THAT casino...with CET, I'll be getting rooms a LOT of places!
In Sept. was given Comped rooms Sun - Thurs., Free Parking coupon and Two $20 direct Bets good 9/1-9/16 & 9/17-9/30.
This was after dropping tier status from Platinum(2011) to GOLD(2012) and visiting once a month or less. But nonetheless, I used both free bets, the parking coupon and played a few hours each trip. Was there for a Bachelor party and stayed at Showboat, so more interesting things & places than the casino going on!
For Oct. and Nov. the offers stopped, no mailers or even postcards trying to entice me to come back. So I didn't show up once in Oct or November.
Now magically, there is an offer for a Free parking coupon, FOUR $30 Direct bets good each week in December and Comped rooms for ANY day!
I'm sure December is a slower month for the Casino, especially considering the fallout from Hurricane Sandy. But two months of inactivity yields better offers than regular visits during the summer?
So it would seem that CET does not give you more offers for maintaining a high status, at least in AC. Therefore, I don't think it's worth maintaining based on my current dealings with them.

It could have something do with Sandy. I know that's the theme of this thread, but right now I wouldn't surprised about anything coming out of that town.

Truth be told, they've been doing this kind of thing for the last few years.
I had Diamond status in 2010 and let it drop to Platinum in 2011.
As a Diamond, I never got Free Slot play coupons in the mail. Yet as Platinum, I would get them pretty much monthly.
Letting it slip to Gold this year(mostly due to the surge in PA Casinos and proximity to my location over AC) the offers stopped for a while in April/May. But then magically re-appeared during the Summer with Direct Bet and Slot Play coupons in June & July. I redeemed those offers, but in August got nothing. So I stayed away that month, only for the aforementioned Direct Bet coupons to appear in September.
No offers in Oct. and Nov. = No visits to CET properties. And now sure enough, Higher Direct Bets and more of them in December.
The pattern was already established, but I'm sure if I confronted them they would use the "Sandy" excuse.
How much do you actually have to play to get this diamond status? I play almost exclusively table games. Their web site mentions how points are calculated for slots and VP but not for table games.
Say I play $100/hand blackjack for an hour. How many points will I earn?

Yeah unfortunately that's more hush hush. I have very little to go on, but playing $10/hand, I got about 12 Tier points/hr on a 6Deck H17 DOA DAS table, so I would guess you would probably get 120 Tier/hr on a similar table (maybe more, maybe less). At that pace, it would take a little less than 100 hours in a year to be Diamond. Other forum members more in to blackjack hopefully will have better data than this.

Thanks for the info. Do they have better games at higher limits? 2 decks, S17, DOA, DAS... something like that? Most (all?) the Vegas MGM properties have a game like that, starting at the $50 or $100 level (depending on the casino)
If your estimate is correct, then reaching Diamond status at CET required about the same is reaching Platinum at MGM (which is not really surprising). At MGM it's 550 pts / $25 / hour played, and 200k to reach platinum. The lounges do seem like a nice bonus, though. I could maintain both statuses if I split up my trips... I'm wondering if it's worth it to do so, or just stay with one set of properties. The thing is, I'm in "no man's land" with MGM. I'm easily at the Platinum level (I could cut my play in half and still reach platinum) but I will not be close to Noire.

Looking at the Wizard's BJ survey, it looks like the best they offer is S17 with 6 decks. Imo, CET focuses on the low-roller and/or slot player way more than MGM does. As for the diamond lounge, I have been in the one in STL (my mom is Diamond). I could take it or leave it. The nicest thing about the STL lounge was beer was $1 instead of $3.50 on the gaming floor. Comped drinks are illegal in Missouri. For Vegas, diamond status is a nice line cutter for buffets, etc.

I hit diamond while I was there and shortly afterwards my cellphone was ringing from a casino hostess....didnt know it at the time because I dont answer calls from weird area codes I dont recognize. The hostess left a voicemail with their contact information . I can tell you that right now I have hundreds of offers for stuff in Las Vegas, mainly free rooms, entry to tournaments , free show tickets but no gambling money offers.
And if I want offers from say Windsor it shows none, not even a free room . But if I go onto booking for rooms it will come up comp, same with AC.
Hows this for odd...as I was typing this one my cellphone rings with a 702 area code number ( dont recognize that number so it goes to voicemail) just played the voicemail and its Jennifer calling from Caesars (hostess) to let me know about all the offers I have available...wondering if I might be interested in visiting the next few months
Do you think Caesars has tapped my ISP account ?

I'm not sure why you would think this, you probably have left your cell # with them at some point. But it sounded like the Vegas hosts are aggressive though. Did you do Diamond in a Day or something there? Or gained a larger than normal amount of tier points on your Vegas trip?
Lack of phone calls seems like a plus of me not being close to diamond...haha

Thats the first call back I have had from her since I was in Vegas in August. I did have a few emails sent between us but no calls. SO WEIRD!!!
I hit enough points to make me diamond status....but it also might have been enough that day for the doing it in a day way too....as I was not that close when I arrived. A very good 24 hr period of $1 VP where I hit two taxable jackpots ( yes I did leave 30% behind being a Canadian without a ITIN)
Like it was said the line jumping for buffets is very nice, the quick hotel check ins too. Now next time I will see if they will comp me free wireless

Yeah that should be enough if you play at a reasonable hand rate. Most CET properties will give you Diamond if you make 3000 Tier in a day. That is equal to 6000 hands on $1 VP at max credits.
The call back, just random weirdness, obv. Probably been about ~90 days since you been there and they just want to follow up.

If you look closely all of the S17 games at Caesers properties are $100 minimums or more. These games are always in the high-limit rooms, if they still exist at all.
The wizard's blackjack survey needs to be taken with a grain of salt. I know that there are errors in the list of games at some casinos that I'm familiar with. It would be foolish to assume that there aren't errors at the ones I'm not familiar with. This isn't really surprising -- maintaining a comprehensive survey like that and keeping it accurate is pretty much impossible. Everything there was probably accurate when it was written, but changes happen all the time, and one person is not going to be able to stay on top of them.
Quote: AxiomOfChoiceI'm fine with $100 minimums. Do they have any double deck games with decent rules (S17, DOA, DAS)?
That list had no double deck games that also were S17 for CET properties, so it's probably unlikely.
