I will be in town for a short trip on Oct 17th-20th. I will be here for a convention but will have nights free. I am available on Thursday and Friday night. I am flying out on the red eye on Saturday night. Kids are staying at home with grandparents.

Wife and I love haunted houses. Can anyone tell me if there are any decent ones within a short drive of the strip? I have been doing some searches and saw a couple but curious if anyone knows of other ones and if so have you been to them, and are they decent?
We have been to all of the top rated ones in the country except for the one in Denver I think it is. 11 floors of hell I think it is called.

Here are the ones that I have seen near the strip

If anyone on here would like to get together for an escape room on Thursday or Friday night, or saturday early afternoon let me know and maybe we can get a group together.
I wanted to do the saw one but I am hearing they are not doing very well and may not make it much longer. I also heard of one called Live or something like that which is another scary type one.

I am actually flying in around midday on the 20th. However, the scariest thing I will probably be doing on my trip is staring at the freaks in the circles on Fremont.

escape rooms, in my opinion, although ive only *attempted (not completed)* AN escape room, that they should be done with friends. We had all friends in our group, but there was a couple who we HAD to go with to make up the amount of people needed, claimed to have already done escape rooms, which kind of ruined our experience. Had they not been there it would have been perfect. Unless you like meeting new people, which the people I was with didnt.

Vegas has a few haunted houses around Halloween. The advertising makes them look pretty scary. I'm interested in doing that and the escape room. I need to redeem myself after not helping much the last time.

I hate to commit to anything this far away, but ping me when the dates get closer and we'll play it by ear.

I think one of the many fortune tellers at Burning Man said I like to "live in the moment."

I enjoy haunted houses. The best one was put on by The Amazing Jonathan but he doesn't do it every year.

Never done an exscape room.

I'm down for either.

Not sure I understand what that is. It's a house that has stuff from movies? Or it's the "real" stuff that some movies are based on? Says it is 90 minutes, but cant imagine how they would stretch that into 90 min.

I went to the haunted house out at Bonnie Springs last year. It was family oriented but fun.
I managed one in NYC that was over the top one year. Topless succubi, spandex vampires, etc, etc. I'm not aware of anything like that out here.

We decided to do the freakling brothers haunted house tonight. Tonight is the only night that would work and I just saw on their site that it is BOGO night for lgbtqmhdbtls night.

Gotta say this may be interesting if there are any flaming gay people in the group with us.

My only worry... with crazy people out there I always worry about crazy people

I was invited to Steven Kings house in Maine for Halloween many years ago. He went to college with my Uncle. That would have been a cool "haunted house" if I could have gone.

Taking a bus to haunted house. Man people are crazy on here. I think it is bad when there are 3 cops on the bus and they get off to follow one of the passengers

We did the 3 haunted houses which were somewhat near summerland. If you are into haunted houses these are definitely worth going. 2 of the 3 were really good. The 3rd was just ok.

Gates of hell is one where they will touch you. There is one scene where a guy mf's you, pushes you into a wall and puts a shotgun to your head. Even though you are pretty certain it is a fake gun, it still has a level of terror. I think if I am ever in a real situation like that I will be dead. I had a nervous giggle for that one.

There is another scene where this really hot chick had freddy like hands that were electrified. She would scream at you and rub your body with them which shocked the hell out of you. It kinda turned me on. Maybe cause I am married and this hot chick was touching me. I dont know.

We ended up doing the Live escape room last night. I thought it was highly entertaining. This was my first escape room and I wasnt sure what to expect. It was mildly irritating when you knew what needed opened but had no fing idea how to do it. We only completed 70% of the room.

In the past this was the case. MGM Grand and whatnot.

But now, at least in the US, fire deaths in businesses is exceptionally rare. With the exception of 9/11, there have been a whopping 0 fire deaths in properly sprinklered commercial buildings and high rises.

Most jurisdictions in the U.S. have strict fire codes. I know NY and NJ have very strict rules about farmhouses and places that intentionally disoriented or confuse people. Many were adopted after the Great Adventures Haunted Mansion fire that killed a bunch of teenagers in the early 80s.

Anybody been to the IT escape room in Vegas? I read a Review-Journal article, and it (heh heh) sounds AMAZING!

So amazing, in fact, that I'm hesitant to bring the Mrs. because she might have a panic attack! But the kids would love it!
