Great meeting and remeeting everyone. Sorry again we couldn't make dinner, but business came a callin. The poker game was a ton of fun and I hope we spiced the action up enough :p.

...I also think between Axel and I we found out pretty decisively whom the better poker player was ;).

Look forward to the nugget challange Monday!
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

Guess I should have posted the they-really-showed-up attendees list:

MaxPen
PokerGrinder
rdw4potus +1
Doc +1
TomG
NicksGamingStuff
Konbu
The Wizard
DJTeddyBear
sunrise089 +1
AxelWolf
rudeboyoi
BlueEagle
Paradigm

As noted in the post above, Rome's and Scottimus arrived late, after we had finished dinner but joined in the gaming. (I wanted to be sure I had that name right, but all I can find in the directory is Scottimus1, so I am not certain.) The only member who had said he would make it but was a no-show was Wizardofnothing -- don't know whether that was the result of a conflict or some name-in-red effect.

Group photo (short the latecomers) will be posted after I get home and probably on Wednesday afternoon.

So now I am home. The photo below is short not just the latecomers who arrived after the photo was taken but also a couple of folks who apparently did not wish to be documented as being part of such a rag-tag assembly. The setting, of course, is inside the 777 Brew Pub at Main Street Station.

From left to right, those appearing in the photo below are:
BlueEagle, a friend of sunrise089 (listed as a +1 in the previous post), Konbu, sunrise089, Paradigm, NicksGamingStuff, Doc, rdw4potus, TomG, a right-handed thumbs up from an otherwise incognito AxelWolf, PokerGrinder, DJTeddyBear, and The Wizard.

If I have misidentified anyone, please let me/us know.

Ok I have my 2017 trip scheduled. I wil be there April 10-14 for the steel workers covention. So we need the meet up to either be the 8th or the 15th.

Eta easter is on the 16th so the 8th will probably be better for everyone.

Wow talk about planning early, do airlines even take reservations a year in advance?

Always thought that was weird that airlines didn't let you buy tickets- but there were conventions that planned that far ahead

Somebodies are responsible for profits/share value for the Airline. No doubt a complicated and convoluted set of 'what if' statements or scenarios. I would be more surprised if they set the fares and flights 'before' they had a picture of the major convention dates.

Um... I just got back from the last one lol. You married people with kids are weird, I have trouble planning more than about 12 hours in advance :)

Heck half the casinos in Vegas will have changed their names by next Spring Fling lol.

I looked again, I read the names. There is nothing about that Pic that SHOUTS;

"A tight knit highly synchronized Team of AP Ninjas has gathered.... The Casinos don't realize they should declare an emergency and close for the weekend"

That surveillance gig must be tough ;-)

And yes, Axel has a cute thumb.

And where's the dancing girls? Who organized this party anyway ;-)

For some unknown reason dancing girls do not seem to be attracted to us nerds. I would like to think they are just intimidated by our brilliant analytical minds but since they never even talk to us I doubt that is the reason. Besides, when they see DJ's car they probably think we play for the other team.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

They declared an emergency on the $5 VP at Plaza.

I'm sure it Had nothing to do with spring fling, just the Plaza thread. I think only a few Spring flingers actually played the promotion.

Disregarding his distracting-from-this-question post above, I think you could blame AxelWolf for the shortage of dancing girls -- he forgot to bring them this time. Check the last photo of this post for the entourage he brought last year.

I had already seen that pic (last year), that's why I asked. I was hoping you'd get a better pic of what's her name this year ;-)

<edit added> just for Doc. I still remember the classic joke Pic, the 'why did Doc cross the road to get a pic(s)' pics. I still chuckle, and that's all good..... Just 2F

I sympathize with GWAE's need to plan. Now I'm retired, I can be flexible, but for 25 years, I had to bid my vacation for the next 15 months and lock in a minimum of 4 months ahead. (Bidding in Oct for the entire following year. ) I don't think we were alone in that.

The last couple years I was in Vegas in Mar. All pools were either open already or scheduled to open April 1, so I would guess you'd find swimming, but that's something the property can probably tell you well ahead.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

The pools were open at both places I stayed for spring fling. I have found from my experience mid April all pools are open. I don't think I have found one closed unless it is under renovation.
