I do not see the situation as analogous. You are welcome to find egalite/RolexWatch/evoque/GodofBACC/etc. valuable...on other forums. On this one, he was banned as egalite months ago for good reason. That makes any further incarnations bannable, his motives for returning suspect (such as causing problems for those he disagrees with here, as he has attempted to do and you are now trying to justify), and the fault in any disagreement his. He is not being bullied, he is simply not welcome by his own hand, and you only have to look at his parting post as egalite to understand why. He will continue to be banned if he continues to return under other names.

I quite agree that someone who uses multiple identities here should get the boot. Them's the rules. So good or bad posts aside, if you utilize multiple nicknames its the boot, irrespective of your reasons or the quality of the posts.

beachbumbabs you should really check your facts before making bold statements. Firstly EGALITE was never banned from this forum, nor was he given an ulitmatum to leave or get removed unlike GR8.
The facts are; a complaint was made to the owner of this forum Michael about WoV member DMSCR (whom issued death wishes on another forum), Michaels response was a rather weak limp wristed "put DMSCR on your block list". Meanwhile the trolling continued, hence the resignation of Egalite from the forum.
He then decided to reinvent himself (he was never banned), what happens the trolling from DMSCR starts all over again and the cycle goes on. Doesn't this board have a policy on trolling? You seem to take a narrow view, perhaps due to other factors, i.e breaking of other forum rules, have their head so far jammed in basic math principals, that not having a discernible edge then you are destine to lose and the impossible cannot possible be.
Secondly DMSCR appears to wallow every time he manages to oust Egalite reincarnations on this board, the grub even posts links to backup what in his small minded world as important, usually followed by the accustom PM wishing the relevant ID's bye bye and a few LOL's. Well I'll let you into a secret BeachBum, this is a gambling forum, getting 86'd from a forum or getting somebody 86'd from a gambling forum is at best laughable, you take your position far too seriously. If I get 86'd from a casino, then that does concern me.
Whether the math bigots believe it is indeed possible to make stone cold tax free cash playing Baccarat or otherwise, literally is of no concern of my mine, however I suspect the AP's on this site do not make 50% to 100% profit of their table buyin every time they sit at a BJ table. The most ironic thing is, my approach to this negative expectation game, is based on MATH's, not the miniscule -EV 1.2% HE rather probability, go figure.

Perhaps the resignation status of your Egalite name would have allowed you to return under that entity if that was what you chose to do. However, you elected to instead create another username. That's a violation of the site's rules, and the penalty is permanent banishment of ALL names associated with you. That means that Egalite is now banned. It seems logical that there would be no penalty for "trolling" a non-member of the site, since that non-member is no longer allowed to be here to take offense.

Obviously the saying "keep friends close and enemies closer" was lost on some, because we could have all got along so well, instead the polices of this board doen't apply to DMSCR who literally attacked the poster in each and every one of his posts and the mods decided to do absolutely nothing about it. As EB is showing(whether he intends to or not)......this board is not that important in the grand scheme of things. I doubt very much B9 is chomping at the bit and saving up volumes of posts over the last 3 weeks.

I tend to think people who have a life would not give this board a thought for 30 days if they were banned. There is way too many things to do in a full life than to feel a 30 day suspension on a board is more than a minor inconvenience.
people tend to project their sense of worth, and their value system on others....so the people who think this board is some holy vessel for their elitist sensibilities....well then they might project those values on B9......and project what they would do upon a 30 day ban.....onto B9

Issue is we know he at least takes this board somewhat seriously and was upset about his original 7 day ban. I mean will he necessarily go off again when he comes back who knows, but we do know he takes the board at least some what seriously. I mean I wouldn't have a rant after a 30 day ban but I also wouldn't have ranted after a 7 day ban.

one mans "engaged conversation" is another mans rant. Its very easy and intellectually dishonest when one is losing an engaged debate, to cry "trolling"
We all can recognize a "troll".....inserting themselves into conversations, hijacking the thread even though they get no engagement from others. But to engage "on topic" in a back and forth in a conversation is far from ranting.
There is a thread in "general" about obamacare...same stuff going back and forth repeated over and over(hundreds of pages). is it only ok to repeat a political opinion over and over in an engaed conversatin, but its not ok to present an opinion on other topics in an engaged conversation?

It's not trolling to engage the same belief all the time. Someone being engaged and responded to neither makes them a troll or otherwise. Most trolls -want to be engaged-. That's their whole point. Get a response and make the puppets dance for their own amusement.

Its just friggin board rules.....not the ten commandments handed down by god. The way I understand it...we can always attack the writing and not the writer....if an attack were to occiur. And we can question both the writing and the writer as long as we are not personally attacking. So we can question the action....and not attack the acting person. So when b9 was nuked originally, people came here and questioned/attacked the action, and questioned the Mod....but didnt personally attack the Mod. Those people seemed to be allowed to do that. No popcorn was needed for your entertainment enjoyment.
If it looks like someone is winning an argument and the other party is looking bad...it may appear that the person is being attacked.....but thats just merely what someone looks like when they lose a debate.
There are actually people that would view the banning of someone as entertainment....possibly because they cant afford a movie ...and this is the cheapest entertainment that involves popcorn for them. Fair enough.

I am naive. I didn't read everything on this thread. But I'd like to say that it surprises me that there are suspensions and banishments. What is the world coming to where people can't voice their opinions without insults? Instead of trying to understand where people are coming from there's too much issue with finding fault. Sometimes broad statements are made that one can find flaw with. Shouldn't we look for the point the person is trying to make and not look for the omission or exception? Where is good manners? Being polite and courteous should be honored. My parents brought me up better than that. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing. It should be honored, respected and spoken without debasement.

I'll say that I am as sure as I can be, although, there's no reason for two people who get banned to just happen to share an IP from where this IP is from...an IP from an area the same as certain other banned Members who will remain unnamed as not a direct IP match.
