If they send dozens of unwanted pms after u told them not to that would be trolling imo
I have received many PM's from Nathan. Some I opened, some I didn't, some I would open and respond to, some I wouldn't. Most of them were asking for advice about various things about the forum, the members, and how she could fit in better. She was always trying to be something/someone she wasn't(a knowledgable gambler). I told her I wouldn't bother answering unless I could be brutally honest without her being offended. She seemed okay with that. It was oftentimes very frustrating since most of the time no matter what point you tried to make or what you explained she just didn't get it. She oftentimes had some lame response, story or excuses. Then she would go off in another direction or just continue explaining the same thing, only in a different way.
I think we can all agree that there is something off about Nathan. I'm sure she has some type of condition that would explain that. However, I have a feeling she is a little more clever many of us think. I think BBB knows a lot more than she is telling us and that's why she's been adamant about keeping Nathan in line.
TBH, I'm surprised Nathan lasted this long given some of her shenanigans. I can't really fault BBB for this considering everything going back to the begging of Nathans arrival. If I was BBB in this situation, I would have just temp banned her and then let Mike and the other mods handle it.
I do have some sympathy for Nathan she has been a trooper through all of this before the C*** post. I hope all the best for her on the other forums I know she will be on. For better or worst, It won't be the same here without her.
I do think Nathan is a little obsessed with gambling so perhaps this will be a good thing for her in the long run.

At the risk of being accused of starting controversy, he’s my take on the subject.
I too received many PM’s from Nathan, probably copy and paste versions of what others got asking for advice on how to deal with Babs and how to fit in. I didn’t reply to many but I did send a few where my simple advice was to stay in your corner and don’t do anything stupid.
No PC way to say it but something isn’t right with Nathan and the gambling obsession is part of it. We all understand the waste the lottery is, but in many lower income areas it’s seen as a chance to change your life instantly and the odds don’t matter. Run a lottery terminal in an urban area and you would be shocked how much money is spent on Daily Number type bets with a 50% HA. The players just don’t care.
As Axel said, we don’t know the entire story but I know the correct call was made based on the post toward Babs.

See we found something to agree on when it comes to low income people playing lottery to change their life.
Certainly not a new thing and an understandable one even if misguided.
Low income should not translate to welfare or even poor necessarily. I know plenty of people gambling awsy their paychecks in the hopes of an easy-street lifetime payoff. Telling your boss to shove it is usually a connected fantasy.
What really is irksome is these "ploppies" BELIEVE not just lottery but the slots can change their lives too. They dont understand the nature of payouts and symbols. At least with the lottery there is a remote possibility of a large life altering payout.
So when the machine does say player wins $46 million they dont recognize it as a malfunction. I.e., they think WHATEVER the slot says they won its all possible all dumb luck and odds [or impossible odds of a payout) just happens.
I have witnessed people slip $5 in, wagering twenty cents a spin talking about how they want a jackpot.

I tried to avoid revealing anything actually said in any PM, only the overall gist of it. However, IIRC way back when after some advice seeking PM's I do think there was an understanding that I could talk that stuff on the forum at least within reason. Obviously, I can tell for the most part what she would and wouldn't want to be posted up publicly. But you are correct. Even if someone gets nuked, I would not think that suddenly ends the PM confidentiality rule.
IMHO I think it comes down to what people are reveling. If I mentioned that GAWE sent me a PM wishing me a happy birthday or something like that, I can't imagine that would be a big deal. I guess you need a standard rule for asshats who can't figure out common sense stuff.

I think in a situation where it becomes apparent many people are receiving the same PMs its okay.
Of course someone has to step forward first and say they recieved these strange pm etc.
With some discretion it can be accomplished
Also there may be a pass for discussion of PMs that come from members who call mods the C word :)))

She is part of several sub-cultures that have a history of playing the numbers rackets. She appears to mean well but appears to fall on the left side of the bell curve in regards to education level. Some people deal better with this kind of person than others, but eventually most give up.
As to how many lottery tickets are sold, I go back to the 1930s. Some mafia guy was in Harlem on some kind of business and is in some smaller, Black-owned store. Deli or candy store or the like. Sees a cigar box filled with coins. Mafia asks the owner what that is about. owner says it is for the number's play. Mafia guy asks if that is the week's take. Black guy gives a look and says, "That is for this morning, the runners pick up twice a day." Turns out, every small shop has a similar box similarly filled. And that was the end of street-tax-free numbers in Harlem.

Quoting PM's without permission, except to a moderator on a matter of moderation, is not acceptable.
Mentioning or discussing the content of a PM, or any external private communication, without permission is generally not acceptable.
That the member is nuked does not change that.
Mentioning that a PM was received, and the general theme of that PM could be a breach of confidence and might well be unacceptable.
E.g.
"I've had several PM exchanges from XXXX about his homosexual tendencies", would almost certainly result in suspension.
"I've had some PM exchanges with YYYY about slot AP opportunities" would probably be acceptable unless YYYY had said it was secret.
Now, A few here have stated that Nathan PM'd them asking for advice about handling her presence and grumbling about certain named members. I personally think that's borderline unacceptable. Understandable and not worthy of suspension, but I would like to discourage such mentions in public.
That said, Nathan has made clear her feelings, so it's hardly secret that she has those feelings.

The spirit of that rule is that things said in confidence via PM should remain as such. Members should use their discretion in quoting PMs. For example, I don't mind saying that Nathan has PM'd me numerous times to ask to start new threads, all of which I denied. I say this because I don't think it would bother Nathan. If she does complain, I will have to suspend myself. So, the victim would probably have to file a complaint for this rule to be enforced.

Don’t forget that she’s not in charge here, regardless of if it’s a matter of fairness. No way should a nuked member have the say on if you’re suspended.
I always thought Nathan was Kentry, even though the mods said there wasn't any clear proof. Not like I really cared if she was or not. Even if her behavior wasn't well-liked on the forum by some, she was a presence that I, for one, will notice missing.
I also got the pm about MrCasinoGames from her. Thought it was pointless since it had already been decided to have one thread for it.

The thing about the rock star standups (Rock, Chappelle, Seinfeld), is that their material quickly becomes so widespread that they are constantly working on new things, which is usually going to be pretty weak as they are forever searching for the next thing that is a hit with the audience. Eddie Murphy probably spent thousands of hours on Delirious, then thousands more on Raw -- most of that time was spent bombing, finding one bit that gets a laugh and then working on it over and over until it's ready for HBO. Then everyone sees it and he can never use it again. It's the lower tiers that can use the same greatest hits for hundreds of shows.
