I think it's true that who we are on a
forum is who we really are. The person
we present in dealing in person is
an act. ZK is really the person he is here,

They say that is why there is so much more polarization post-internet. I mostly agree. It is also why forums get people, you are free to say what you will.

I was thinking more about another comment from the SCOTUS thread where you were saying he should be nuked. Sorry if that wasn’t you or I misread it.
My point is, the policy has always been that you can break the rules and really speak your mind to someone, but take a short timeout as a result. You’ve taken advantage of that several times, so what is different about ZK?

I see no reason to either accelerate or decelerate what may be inevitable. He doesn't bother me either way though.
AFAICT he doesn't intentionally try to do anything other than say what he believes in. It may disconcert people but I find it far superior to intentional trolling.
I don't think he is here to create trouble, he just sometimes creates trouble when he is here it seems.
Maybe I don't follow it close enough though. I admit not to be strictly reading every back and forth going on.

Curse words by themselves are rarely an issue. The site I mod at, we will let most words go including f-bombs in the right context. Obviously a curse word directed toward a fellow member is not tolerated. But best of all, we enforce a "no politics" rule because if you don't, you'll get this forum's gigantic Trump thread instead. Cuts our work down significantly. ;)

I got suspended over on DT a couple months ago for using that word over there. The guy deserved it, too. I'd do it again. But I also don't moderate over there.

Another radical idea is to wait for the possibly insulted poster to say something like,"I find that really insulting," before issuing a suspension.

No and no. The board standards are pretty clear, both by rule and by precedent. Most people have no problem staying within those guidelines most of the time. Your "radical ideas" would lead to a lot more subjectivity, umbrage, and trolling, which is why that type of process has been avoided wherever possible for years.

I think my 3 day suspension for the use of Cray-cray? Went to far. However I could understand it so not a big deal. Kind of like being in Facebook jail serve your time and go about your business when it is over

Yup. Same as when you get suspended because a person did not understand the obvious example you were giving. Do your time and return with more status with your crew for doing the time.

If you are involved in incidents like this on multiple websites I think it is time for some self reflection. I have about 40k posts on forums and cant recall a single situation that was like this.

his last visit was in Feb 2017, thus why I assumed he was nuked in Feb 2017.
