I have earned a lot of comp dollars at Borgata, an MGM property in New Jersey. Can I spend them at MGM Springfield?
I'm asking because I could not spend them at Empire City, an MGM property in Yonkers, New York. (However, I could buy food in Empire City with my MGM slot dollars, which I earned at the Borgata.)

Yes you can use your comp dollars and tier points at springfield MGM
The reason your options are limited at Empire City casino is because it's actually a NYS Lottery racino run by MGM. They are tied into both systems and it seems they were limited in how tier, and comp dollars could be accounted for.
you can use them but there’s not many options. They have a crappy gift shop with mostly Logo stuff. There is a Jewelry store where you have to pay double if you use comps. Occasionally they have 1oz gold bars that you can buy.Quote: ChesterDogI might be going to MGM Springfield, in Massachusetts.

Oh yes that's true.
In addition I just remembered that already crappy gift shop had a ridiculous rule that you could only purchase MGM logo apparel with comps. Everything else was cash. So if you wanted a sweater using points you will have to settle.for being a walking advertisement for MGM Springfield.

Thanks for the replies.
Now I know to steer clear of the gift shop!
I hope that I will be able to pay my restaurant bills with MGM Rewards Credits at 1:1.

There is a food court with like four venues (burgers, Mexican, Chinese, seafood) in then rear corner. Like hovels really, they are just stands. The food is fast food level. But they always give me half off for some reason (senior citizen or I'm platinum) so usually a $12 meal might have them take off $6 in points.
There are no top line restaurants except a steak house I never went to. There is a so-so burger restaurant connected to their bowling alley but I think it's 2:1.
Their biggest plus is there rooms are awesome and different (steampunk victoruan) and they are good for entertainment if you have family.
They have a bowling alley, golf (real clubs shooting at a projector screen so no walking) a regal multiplex with full candy stand including separate liquor bar. Skating rink but that's closed this time of year. And a giant chess set I never see anyone use (human chess piece size)I Often I bring family and my kids aren't stuck in the hotel.
Massachusetts is NY indoor smoking rules (essentially zero tolerance) so if you smoke you will be walking outside all the time. If you don't smoke enjoy really clean casino air.
Finally food wise, I usually prefer to est st the nearby restaurants. There are two right on the block. A Pizza restaurant with upscale Italian food I almost religiously go to and a Whalburgers.
The Italian place has been there for 30 years. They are so good they were offered to become part of the MGM property and refused because they already do so well. Midsummer every year they are closed for 2 weeks for vacation so you might miss them depending on your dates.
(If you do get inside try the Sausage Cacciatore my personal favorite).
Weed is legal in Massachusetts and there a shops all over if that's your thing. And you aren't far from the Basketball hall off fame.
I know you probably drive but I take Amtrak there. The train station is literally 6 short blocks away. I always walk it unless it's raining. It's through a small hometown USA city so a few small restaurants gift shops, clothing stores. A subway sandwich place and they all close esrllike 7 or 8 pm
