The first is a way to sort the members by posts on the member list. I know we can see the top 5 on the forum page, but I would be interested to see the full list, and where I rank amonst others.
The second is social network compatible reccomendation buttons (eg facebook, twitter, digg) as I would like to be able to reccomend certain interesting things both here and on the Wizard of Odds site, and this would make it far easier.
I dont know what anyone else thinks, and I know I have brought the social network thing up before but this is a slightly different slant on that.
First you promise 99 Vegas fun facts before your trip, then you get about half done (with a fair amount being rather lame), and then fall off the planet!
What the hell?!?!?
Just yanking your chain...
I think those are some good ideas.
A couple ideas that I'd suggest are buttons to PM someone, right from one of their posts (and perhaps quote the post in the PM).
Another idea would be a block user button right on someone's post. I've only blocked one person here so far, but figuring out how do to is, was jjjjust a pain....
I second all of the above,
How about this.
Wizard, (if you get the chance)
What would you like to see?
Any suggestions about the forum?
You are "married with children" and I am almost certain your family does not ask you what you would like at most times, unless you have them trained well, I mean they have you trained well, ahhh, I do not know what I mean.
Quote: CroupierA couple of things I was thinking of I was wondering if it would be possible to implement.

I wouldn't really like to see the members ranked by any kind of implied hierarchy. Some posters are quite infrequent participants but their contributions are nevertheless valuable. There are also a couple of people who should be at the bottom of any list, even though they are frequent posters.

In that case would you like to see the "Top 5 posters" section removed? The only reason I asked is because we have that, so to me it seemed only natural to extend that so we could see at a glance how many posts everyone has made in one place.

Yeah, I don't think that information is important. Unless, of course, there's a cash reward for being MFP.

Well, since the MFP is me (OK, second only to the Wiz), I can assure you that there's no cash prize for having the title.Quote: mkl654321Yeah, I don't think that information is important. Unless, of course, there's a cash reward for being MFP.
And it never occured to me that there would be one. And I continue to think that there should NOT be one.
FYI: I post here a lot because the subject interested me greatly, and I have an IT job where I'm underutilized, the bosses know it, and they allow me to surf when I'm not doing anything else. I.E. I mostly do this at work.

Careful with that. Lots of site have a version that expands when you roll over, which covers areas of the page you want to read. Some have a little x to close them, most don't. In any case they're both annoying as hell.
