The black jack side bet of under 13 / over 13 . The wizard in his " blackjack side bet" stated the house edge for over13 is 6 .55% and under 13 is 10.07% in 6 deck game. What I would like to know is how many over13 and how many under 13 and how many 13 in the first 2 cards of the blackjack game. How did Wizard calculate the house edge? Please help.

It's countable but I thought it was long gone. Have you seen it in the United States recently?

Mystic Lake, Minnesota. But don't get on that plane just yet. They hawk it intensely.

And it's a $25 max bet....it serves its purpose to identify modest BR AP's on the main floor.

Here are the number of permutations for each in a 6 deck game:
Over 13: 45,336
Under 13: 43,632
13: 8,064
TOTAL: 97,032

(By the way, you can set up a spreadsheet, such as in Excel, to calculate the number of ways of getting each permutation of two first cards. Here are some examples: A/A--24*23, A/2--24*24, A/3--24*24,..., 2/A--24*24, 2/2--24*23, 2/3--24*24,..., 10/9--96*32, 10/10--96*95.)

To change the numbers of permutations to player EV, use this formula: EV = (prob. of win) * odds + (prob. of loss) * (-1) or EV = 2 * (prob. of win) * odds - 1. For Over 13, EV = 2 * (45,336/97,032) * 1 - 1 = -0.065545.

Do they really hawk this on the main floor? They let 10 person teams wong with no heat in the high limit room, but they hawk this side bet from red players on the floor? Hmmm...ok, yep. Sounds like Mystic to me.
