Sometimes quoting someone only quotes their post and not quotes inside their post....and other times, it'll have a quote within a quote. Is it sub-forum specific, or what?

For example, let's say a post is as follows, by member "asdf":

That's cool


I don't think that's cool!

I click the QUOTE button, and sometimes it turns to:
-----------------
Quote: asdf

I don't think that's cool!


My own response here.
----------------

And other times it turns to:

I think I know what you mean, if you quote someone quoting someone else, you don't know which way it will come out, sometimes you get the whole kit and caboodle, sometimes just the last poster's comment. You don't know how it is going to go, or have any control over it.

Thank goodness you can delete the parts of the quote you don't want to include, including the undesired quote block.

Can we PLEASE get this sh*t fixed? It's seriously driving me crazy. One way or the other is fine, but not half-and-half!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never had a quote within a quote show up, and I often like having those, so I find myself doing some copying and pasting.
Casinos are not your friends, they want your money. But so does Disneyland. And there is no chance in hell that you will go to Disneyland and come back with more money than you went with. - AxelWolf and Mickeycrimm

I think the intent was to avoid huge nested quotes like this:

These happen all the time on boards where the "default" is to always include nested quotes. For whatever reason, the behavior is inconsistent.

Yeah, obviously some discretion is needed.
