WoV is seeking more "green" moderators (as opposed to secret mods). We prefer somebody who will be active and not afraid to throw down suspensions when warranted. It's a thankless job that will get 100 complaints for every one compliment. Applicants will be expected to set an exemplary example and be beyond reproach in their own posts.
If your only interest in taking the job is to nuke particular members you don't like, please don't apply.

I don't know if Axelwolf is a secret mod as has been suggested (to be honest, I don't quite get the concept of secret mods), but I think Axelwolf would be an excellent green mod. He can be a little mischievous at times, but I think he could and would put some of that aside and any biases and be a very fair minded mod.

It's my understanding that Babs had personal reasons for stepping back. She is still a green in very good standing and is welcome to resume her duties anytime.
Face was basically not active in carrying out his duties. Moderators are expected to exercise their authority.

Um…no? I have absolutely no idea where you got that. I challenged someone to a fight on DT once, but I wasn’t intoxicated when I did it. I didn’t threaten him, though, I challenged him.
I’ve never threatened to kill anyone. If I would do any act of violence at all ever, it would only be if someone agreed, in advance, to fight me…or self-defense, of course.
I’m going to ask for Zippyboy to please not face any consequences for this post, but it’s almost 100% wrong.

Yeah, I didn’t threaten him. I challenged him to a fight because I was sick of his trolling and creating division constantly, but I no longer have much of a problem with him.
I did get demoted back to blue there, but the fact that I was green in the first place was automatic from being green here and I almost never actually moderated anything there. In fact, I PM’ed Wizard immediately after that post, linked him to it, and said to make the Suspension as long as he wants and to demote me. Also, I’d not been a Moderator here for something close to a year, by that time.
Quite frankly, I didn’t care if I was a Moderator there or not. I also wasn’t terribly concerned if he chose to Nuke me over there. Anyway, I was simply telling him (the other poster) what the rules for the fight would be so he could make an informed decision on whether or not to accept.
Furthermore, I’m going to need to PM Wizard and ask about what’s going on in this poll. I would perhaps Moderate here again, but only if there are zero objections.
CORRECTION: I hadn’t been a Moderator here for over two years, at that point.
One of my favorite members here.
Moderation is about enforcing a particular set of Rules, not about following Rules that don’t exist elsewhere.
Of course, I would mostly post in accordance to WoV Rules (except the profanity one) even elsewhere were I a Moderator here. When I’m not, all due respect, I’ll say whatever I want to at other forums.
I’ve also been banned from here…I think twice. The first one was deliberate where I made an insult and immediately PM’ed someone to ban me. The other time was just a few days ago when I made a post that was a little bit political after OD had warned the thread was getting too close to being political. Two other Members got banned and I hadn’t seen OD’s warning prior to my post, but I posted he’d have to ban me if he was banning them.
I am fair, just and I rationalize things out from a third-party perspective, the same way I do in my job.

I understand it's a tough thankless job but either wear your authority on your sleeve for all to see, or don't wield it.

From my POV, being green entails responsibility and I would feel the need to dedicate a certain amount of time daily to being active on WoV. What a drag, especially with a full time job and a family.
Being blue with the power to suspend and post in secret mod threads, doesn’t come with any corresponding weight of time commitment.
My two cents.

Editing. You can look and see when there are no Greens on, commit an infraction, then Edit it. If there are Secret Mods who can quote the original post and act like they are just responding to it (really, they are retaining it) then people can’t just pull the insult and edit trick.

1. You have promoted betting systems in your posts.
2. You are the “#1 Fan” of a frequently Suspended poster.
3. You have a much longer Suspension record than many others in a much shorter period of time.

As far as the insults go, it’s just fun to demonstrate to certain people that I’m even better than they are at their game.
They can go high road or low road with me, either way, I will win the race.

Can't anyone quote an offending post to preserve it. It's not a big deal but on another forum a friend of mine was finally outed as a secret mod after he'd publicly denied it several times. It led to some well deserved animosity, imo.
Maybe have a Moderator Reserve where the person shows Teal when no Mod is on and blue when he isn't acting in an official capacity.
Maybe even open up a Reserve Moderator Corp.

I do not sell anything. And I speak the truth and I speak from my heart and I am a real person. Actually I have gained experience as I had no experience writing on gambling forums. And I have over a decade of experience on the inside of a casino working in security and on the floor.
And unlike so many people here, I do not write on other gambling forums and contradict what they say on this one or write something on the other ones that they cannot say on this one.

I do suspect Gialmere of being a secret mod - he is unfailingly pleasant and reasonable and he ran the Easy Puzzle thread. I think he would be an ideal candidate to be promoted to green moderator, along with Mission.
The problem with the Moderator position is that it is not attractive. When the Wiz described the position, there was not a single positive attribute about the Moderator position that he cited. Let's face it, there should be free beer and naked cheerleaders.
