Hole Carding in Different Casino Games

Hole carding is one of the more popular ways to beat the casino. It involves trying to see the dealers face-down cards to gain an advantage.

Many hole carders head straight for the blackjack tables. After all, blackjack is a popular target among advantage players.

However, you can also use this technique in a variety of other casino games. I’ll cover more on hole carding, which games it applies to, and what edges it provides in each game.

Tropicana for sale on Las Vegas Strip
Nevada (Las Vega) - Eli Segall, Las Vegas Review-Journal - Las Vegas had a string of blockbuster casino deals the past few years as investors pumped billions into properties on or near the Strip. Now the Tropicana is up for grabs, in a business climate that was unthinkable not long ago. Tropicana landlord Gaming and Leisure Properties is looking to sell the 35-acre hotel-casino and rent it back or sell it outright, listing broker Michael Parks, of CBRE Group’s global gaming group, said Monday.

Icahn’s ownership stake in Caesars down to 2%
National (corporate) - Howard Stutz, CDC Gaming Reports - It appears corporate raider Carl Icahn has decided his work was done with Caesars Entertainment is done. The 84-year-old billionaire and activist investor sold the bulk of his stake in the newly reconfigured gaming company that he helped create. According to Stifel Financial gaming analyst Steven Wieczynski, Icahn reduced his ownership to less than 2%. Icahn acquired more than 17% of Caesars stock starting in late 2018 – and controlled up to 25% – in order to force a sale of the casino company to rival Eldorado Resorts.

Gov. Kevin Stitt loses another tribal gaming lawsuit
Oklahoma (Indian gaming) - Randy Ellis, Oklahoman - A federal judge Tuesday handed Gov. Kevin Stitt another defeat in his effort to restructure Oklahoma's nearly three dozen tribal gaming compacts, ruling the compacts automatically renewed on Jan. 1. Stitt had argued that the 15-year compacts expired on that date, which would have made it illegal for tribes to continue offering Las Vegas-style Class III games unless they renegotiated new deals. Stitt wants the tribes to pay the state more in exclusivity fees.
