My patent attorney (and many others on here) Rich Newman, has started his own firm as senior partner, still specializing in gaming patents. He is, in my opinion and experience, of the highest quality in work ethic, reliability, integrity, and honesty, and is the only guy I want to work with on future projects in that area. Any past work he did with any of us while with Howard and Howard is currently that firm's property (you are their client) unless you direct them otherwise with a statement he will provide on request. He is ethically and contractually constrained from announcements and soliciting prior clients to move but I am not, so I urge you to close the loop, contact him, and designate him if you want his continued services. On the other hand, I disagree with Soda's statement that t belongs in the kiosk. Game Inventor's Corner is the only place this should be.

Babs knew the rules she was breaking; she even went as far as to cite them in her post. She didn't care. She was selfish and thought her spamming needs were more important than the rules she agreed to enforce.

lol ok, since when did I say you deserve a suspension. I was just pointing out that you felt the need to complain about others that were complaining about something else. As always, if you feel I provide to substance to this forum then you always have the option to block me.

Perhaps it should be moved to Inventors Corner since that is where the inventors go but I would hardly call this spam. It is a useful post for those whose patent work is directly involved.

First of all, it's in the forum announcements forum. Is it an announcement related to this forum? No, it's Babs's personal spam.
Second, it's an exact duplicate post. It says so in the post! Duplicate posts in two different forums are also not allowed. Doubly so for spamming purposes.

That said, Kiosk may have been a more appropriate sub-forum for the post as it states, "Plug your Las Vegas business interests here," but, at worst, I'd have moved the thread to the Kiosk. Wizard has already chimed in on this thread, so I would assume, he doesn't mind it being placed in announcements.
Is there some specificity to announcements? I think we all agree this is gambling related as he is a gambling attorney. Many people on this forum use him.

My point was not to "advertise" for Rich. Howard and Howard has put his balls in a vise, not telling any of us clients we've lost his services, when many if not most of us signed with them because it was his firm. Also, all his work product, contact lists, and other info from "his" clients is their property, so he couldn't contact any of us even if he wanted to make the ethical breach. But I happened to call him and found out MY services had changed even though I wasn't notified, and I've sent him at least a dozen people since I started working with him last year from new game designers here asking for a recommendation. We have current business, and it matters very much that they've parted ways, so I'm pretty unimpressed that they didn't tell me themselves since they're the only ones who could.
I didn't think of the Kiosk sub-forum, to be honest, though it would not have been appropriate IMO. He works nationwide and, I believe, does some international work as well, so it's not a Las Vegas business, though he's located there. There are people who only read the Game Inventor's Corner, and many other people who don't know it's there but are looking for someone like Rich but don't know how to find him, so Announcements seemed correct as well since it's obvious on the home page of the forum.
When it's all said and done, Rich has provided valuable counsel and advice to many people as a member on here over the years just out of goodwill and a genuine interest in the field. As has Jon Muskin, as the Wizard said; an equally solid member and patent attorney. Since Rich couldn't speak for himself, I did. That's all.

Two administrators have posted in this thread and neither has supported your decision. With the exception of one poster who thinks it's perfectly okay to break forum rules, no one else has supported you. What they have done is sing the praises of Rich Newman and I'm perfectly fine with that.
In the interest of the transparency that you often cite, can you tell us if the Wizard is still the boss? Many still refer to him as such and would like to know what happens to "my house my rules" when the house gets sold.
Rich Newman is a great guy and I wish him the very best even though I don't know him and have never met him. How do I know that? I know that because DJTeddyBear said so a long time ago and that's good enough for me.

FleaStiff, I'll add you to the list of those who would rather deflect than address what I originally brought up which was a rules violation. Do you have a comment on that?
