Good morning everyone. I just added a new feature to the forum which lets you block topics.

To explain how it works, let me first define a topic. If you go to the main forum page and look at the "Forum Info" section, it has three topics — Help, Rules, and Announcements.

To block or unblock topics, go to your Preferences page (the link is underneath the main menu near the top of the page) and click the link that says "Click here to manage blocked topics." From there, you can block and unblock topics individually.

Having a topic blocked only affects two areas:

1) Threads from that topic will not appear on the main forum page in your list of recent threads

and

2) Threads from that topic will not appear in any of your Recent Threads pages

So blocked topics do still appear on the main forum page if you are scrolling down to find them, but threads from blocked topics will not appear in any of your Recent Threads lists.

As always, if you experience any problems or bugs with this change, please reply here or send me a PM to let me know.

Thanks!
- JB

Thanks JB!

Now all you people complaining about the recent rash of baccarat betting systems, please go to the topic list and block the one on betting systems. It is the third one down.

Do you think I should make a separate section for dice influence, so the vast majority who aren't interested in it can block that one too?

Nice work, JB! That will really speed up searching through chaff for wheat. Thanks for taking the time.

Yes! I have over 50 threads blocked, mostly craps and betting systems. This is excellent, it's great to not have to be bothered blocking this stuff.

NO! The research must go on and everyone must participate ! [vbg]

So that we can all block it, what should I title the thread on dice influence?

Probably just, "Dice Setting."

In the description, I would emphasize that it is theoretical with no absolute proof going either way. Given that you don't believe in dice setting, you would not want to give the impression that such a sub-category on the Forum is a confirmation of advocating it, on your part.

Dice sliding is certainly a subset of DI and is most certainly a method to beat the house, no proof needed. As far as the other way, the burden is on those who claim DI, not the other side. Until such proof is given, the claims of beating the house using DI are not AP. I personally would require a 5 SD demonstration (same as the proof of the existence of the Higgs Boson). At any rate, to stay OT, I definitely would appreciate being able to block DI in mass -- so I just blocked "craps" as little else goes on there.

This is a decent idea; however, mods really need to have the ability to move topics to their appropriate categories. Many of the threads started here are not in the appropriate subforum.

We do have that ability. We aren't able to monitor every single thread for proper categorization, but I alter the location of threads when/as I see fit. I'll be looking out for miscategorized threads even more after this change.

1. This is AWESOME.
2. Nobody should be able to suppress the forum rules, etc. Maybe make the 3 "forum info" sections unblockable?
