Quote: HeyMrDJYou said you wanted free stuff. If you have no intention of spending a dime then I don't think you deserve anything.
I go to Vegas all the time and I absolutely expect free stuff
platinum status with CET so I can jump the buffet lines at Paris and Ceasars
I eat for free:-)
Do I gamble or stay at CET properties, hell no
I never gamble at CET properties, total rip off. No way I'm gonna pour my hard earned money into their rip off games
I just take the free platinum status and my free buffets at CET
I never spend money at CET, its a total ripoff. All the games suck.
I eat for free on the strip, skip lines due to my status and gamble downtown
As for MGM, I also expect my free Cirque shows due to myvegas
Again no way do I gamble at MGM properties, its a rip off
So dam straight I want my freebies
If I can get them without gambling, why not.
I don't do Facebook, but I have an account set up to play MyVegas. Mrs. Joeman, who is also playing, is my only friend. I'm wary of adding more friends because I want to limit my FB exposure and I don't want to spam my friends.
I have read the tips and strategies for chip accumulation and optimum play. So far, in about 8 days of playing, I'm at Level 30 and have around 12,500 LP's.
My question is, can I reach my goal of getting these comps by November, or am I wasting my time? I don't want to spend any money, but I might not be opposed to paying something like $5 if it were to get me a buttload of chips and LP's.
Quote: JoemanOK, I'm very late to the MyVegas game, but as I am heading out there this November, I thought I'd give it a try. My room is comped (Bally's), but my goal is to get a pair of tickets to KA (Sun or Mon night), 4 bfast/lunch buffets @ Red Rock, and 2 dinner buffets (might have to settle for a 2-for-1) on the Strip (possibly MGM before/after KA).

I think it is a manageable goal to reach that many LPs by November. I take Vegas trips every two months and I pretty much use ~250K LP each trip. And I never have had any problem accumulating enough LPs for each trip.
My advice: join a Facebook group dedicated to MyVegas (such as "MyVegas Friends Rocks") and find some friends to add in the group. You get more from your daily spins if you have more friends. Since you made an account solely for MyVegas, it shouldn't be a problem adding a bunch of strangers. (Just don't add too many too quickly - that can cause problems with Facebook thinking you are a spammer).
Also, if you have a smartphone, download the three apps: MyVegas mobile slots, MyVegas Blackjack, and MyKonami slots. All three will help you accumulate LP more quickly.
KA and LOVE show tickets, although availability for Beatles LOVE is in very short supply.Quote: CaptCampionCurious, what are the best rewards out there where you DON'T have to be staying at the hotel where you're redeeming it?
I have another question; I can't promise it will be the last... :)
Mrs. Joeman doesn't have an Mlife account. Does she need to get one before she redeems any rewards, or can she wait until we get out there and set her account up at an Mlife desk at one of the casinos? Do any Mlife properties offer incentives for getting a card at the casino?
I think MLIFE should be pushing myVEGAS to sort out those issues. IMHO.....
Pluses:
Free Stuff.
The game is kindof fun to play.
Minuses:
Free Stuff WHEN IT IS AVAILABLE, so ya gotta be persistent.
Hassles redeeming on-line (not that it was every much better on the phone, that took a LONG time as well back in the day).
Short supply of decent prizes.
There are limits imposed now, apparently, on how many times you can redeem for the same prize (I'm not talking about the 30 or 90 day rule).
You have to stay at an MLIFE hotel for some of the prizes.
I have a lot of difficulty loading this game
I used to play all the time
Now it does not load properly
Anybody else having problems with this game?

I still play. Mainly for the Freeplay rewards.
Most of my play is on the Blackjack mobile app.
What version of the game are you having problems with?
Since the trip, we still log on to get our daily spin, but we don't play much. We run it on both Chrome and Firefox on the PC. Never had a problem with Chrome, but sometimes the app will slow to an absolute crawl on Firefox. You might try using another browser to run the game and see if it makes a difference.
I don't know about the mobile app -- we haven't logged into it in months.

I missed this when it was posted the first time...but since when do you get free buffets just for having a Total Rewards Platinum card?
(Or does "platinum status at CET" mean something else?)
I hardly play at CET casinos either, but my TR Visa gets a lot of work, especially now that Costco takes Visa cards and my condo association just added $300/year to my fees, so I manage to stay Platinum.
I thought only Diamond and Seven Stars rated seriously free stuff, like boarding priority on the Rio shuttle.

I use my Total Rewards visa for most expenses and pay off the bill every month so paying no interest
I earn about 150 "free" dollars a year to spend at CET properties
I pretty much use the 150.00 free dollars to eat at CET properties when in Vegas
But, clearly, the heyday is past. The best reward I collected (quite some time ago) was 2 tix to Bellagio "O" (ended up front row center). Next was probably 2 for Terry Fator. Also "love" Beatles LOVE at Mirage, which I have seen several times thanks to myVegas.
Quote: GWAEFinally good news about my vegas trip. Myvegas has put tornament of kings back as a reward. Of course it is sold out but hopefully I can catch it after replenishment. If anyone happens to see it available please post on here so I can grab it.
Do you have a Facebook account? There's a MyVegas group ("MyVegas Gifts, Guides, and Giveaways") that includes a thread that lets you know when prizes are reset. The only thing is, I don't think all of the prizes are reset at the same time like they used to be. (I don't mean "reset at the same time every day"; I know they stopped doing that when people were constantly refreshing the game at the refresh time - I mean, that every prize is refreshed at the same time as every other prize.)
Well, there's always the Australian BeeGees, unless DJTDAPOTUS has pissed them off.Quote: GWAEIf anyone happens to see it available please post on here so I can grab it.

Love is my favorite show that I've seen in Vegas. I've seen it 3 times (all free thanks to MyVEGAS).
So that's what I'd pick.
I liked Zumanity as well. It's more raunchy humor. Lots of boobies. Depends what you're in the mood for, I guess.
Quote: GeoducknCrabLove is based on the music and history of the Beatles. It is my choice. My wife has seen it 5 times. We've seen Zumanity once only.
I was just reading some reviews online. It seems like people say zumanity has less of the crazy stunts than love. I have seen 7 different cirque shows and last was Ka. I hope seeing love right after that one it is not a let down.

Plenty of time for boobs later in the night. If I can get love tickets in think that is what we will see.
Not even close, see LOVE. Loved it. Also saw Zumanity, meh.Quote: GWAEI used the KA reward in april. Trying to figure out which one in aug. Zumanity or love I guess are my options. Thoughts between the 2?

Welp so much for that. They are dark from Aug 15th to 24th and we are going on the 19th.
Zumanity still worth it for free?
Quote: GWAEZumanity still worth it for free?
Yes. My wife and I enjoyed it and we've been twice. I'd say definitely worth it for free.
Blackjack via the bonus card collection mechanic seems to be the fastest way to earn points. The primary slot app is much slower, but does not requires constant attention with the auto-spin feature, so you could just keep it going in the background all day with a tap every few minutes.
myKonami Slots and POP! Slots seem pretty useless for earning points
I'm not sure if it's easier/harder on the facebook browser version of the games. I'm at like 7k points now and will keep going until I get to 12k for a $25 food voucher. Just does not seem like it's worth the time to me, unless someone has found a better way than me. You could potentially buy credits and bet larger to make things go faster and still come out ahead, but I'd 100% waste more money than I'd earn trying to figure that out.
For myvegas I play BJ at night while watching shows and have slots auto spin at work.
A few years ago, myVegas was a great deal. We've seen O, Terry Fator, Zarkana, and KA and Beatles LOVE several times all from myVegas (with good to excellent seats each time. All of these were freebies, not bogo).Quote: gamerfreakJust does not seem like it's worth the time to me, unless someone has found a better way than me. But even back then I could see that it wasn't going to be sustainable because the prizes were TOO EASY to get. I think they have over-compensated for that now and the decent prizes are now TOO HARD to get. KA and LOVE are still available, but LOVE is always "sold-out" on the myVegas site.
And alas, apparently I have gone to KA too many times, the myVegas pop-up box says something like "You have reached the limit for this Reward. Please try purchasing a different Reward". Like what ?
- Freeplay with qualified stays at the MGM hotels
- 2 for 1 on a show. Mind you the prices on Vegas.com are usually about 20% higher in total and there are the discount ticket sites that work.
- 2 for 1 on Buffets or a free buffet if you are travelling solo.
- savings / free midweek nights in some cases.
Really it's an accumulations of a couple of 100k LPs that you can do 10k a day over a few weeks to get what you are want.

Wow, how do you get 10k a day? I think my record is maybe 4k and that's with hours of grinding... I average maybe 1-2k a day.
Quote: JohnnyQWell I lucked out because while I was sitting at the airport the other day, I logged in to myVegas via Facebook and was able to get a BEATLES LOVE ticket for both Mrs Q and me. Yippy Yip.
Congrats! That's like the holy grail of myVegas prizes.
Not the best return on the (time) investment, but it's something...
Thank-you, good knight of the land of casinos. That prize is INDEED scarce.Quote: tringlomaneCongrats! That's like the holy grail of myVegas prizes.

Mobile Blackjack and the Facebook version are where you'll earn your keep. The others are strictly for fun, though completing mobile slot journeys is still something to attempt. Before the update it was a decent way to gain LPs on the iOS and Amazon apps (Google Play version has always been useless). As mentioned earlier, the success of the FB version weighs a bit on maxing out the daily friend multiplier to a 500% bonus. Follow the guides online as to what to play each level. I don't know them off hand, but after a certain point it's good to play that fake Angry Birds game (can't think of the name right now) at 1K per spin and just check on it for that little bonus picking round.
As to the current value of it? I know people point out that it's not as good as it once was (what is?), but man I think any non-high roller should be attached at least slightly to this game. It takes me not much time at all, doing it for both of us, and combined we've spent $56 between the two accounts, her getting the spare change for those briefcase deals and the $50-plus getting me 4 rewards. Since last March, including Borgata trips and the upcoming Vegas trip, we've redeemed:
Aria and Mirage one night room comps, Water Club room comp, $50 in comp dollars at Borgata, $100 Borgata matchplay, $60 Borgata slot play, $25 Mirage slot play, 2 tix to Zarkana, 2 tix to KA, 2 Aria Dinner buffets, 2 Aria breakfast/lunch buffets, Monte Carlo buffet for 2, two Borgata sheet sets, couple of coffees and Madam Toussads BOGO.
On the plus, but not necessarily AP side, I've heard that having the room comps can be beneficial to bigg(er) players as your play doesn't have to cover the cost of the room. In any case, the rewards I've gotten over the years have been well worth the time and money spent. Besides, I am proof of the original intent of myVegas: getting my money over to the MGM-family. I'm still a free agent, but I don't think I'd consistently visit and stay at their properties if not for myVegas. So add my comps to myVegas and Vegas life has been good.
Finally got over 1 million LPs (this isn't counting the millions I've already redeemed in rewards on my trips to Vegas over the years).
Quote: ams288I've been on a run on the blackjack app for the last week or so. I've gotten as high as 90 million chips, and as low as 7 million on this run.

I see you're betting $1 million (I assume the doubled value is your bet plus your winnings). How many LPs do you get for a $1M bet? Did the game lift the LP per deal cap?
Quote: ThatDonGuyI see you're betting $1 million (I assume the doubled value is your bet plus your winnings). How many LPs do you get for a $1M bet? Did the game lift the LP per deal cap?
It takes two $1 million bets to fill up the meter, and the meter tops out at 225 LPs around level 500.
There is no LP cap on the iPhone version of the blackjack app. I think there is one on the Android version, but I'm not sure.
Quote: bbcpjcIs it just me or has the life on the buffet rewards been reduced? Whereas they used to be good for three months some now are only 5 or 6 weeks.
Most of the rewards expire 12/9/17ish. They will probably refresh them with blackout dates for 2018 around then and then they'll all be good for the standard 3 months again...
I liked that buffet better back in the day when it included beer and wine.
But, much better than Paris (lunch - very very disappointing) and Harrah's (dinner, also very disappointing), which we did on the 24 hour buffet thing with the annual Diamond Celebration benefit from CET. The best one, I thought, was Flamingo for breakfast. I think the other one was RIO for lunch.
But, I guess all-in-all, "ok" for $ 12.50 per person per meal.

Mandalay's buffet has always been "meh" for me. Pretty views though if they seat you in the right section.

I wonder how those work. Do you still pay the 370ish fee per person like the free casino ones
