If you had a baccarat game a winning 6 pays half and you had a choice of when you could draw, would you rather:
A. Stand on a 6 (knowing you have a semi-strong hand and don't want to risk it)
B. Draw on a 6 (because you want a chance for a full paying win)
Assume you don't know the bankers hand value or their drawing rules although you can assume it is similar to Baccarat.

Drawing on a 6 is better. I calculated this exactly over an 8-deck shoe, covering every possible card combination, so the figures below have no sampling error.
Expected value (EV) per unit bet when the Player’s first two cards total 6:
Option EV given a two-card 6
A. Stand on 6 −2.85%
B. Draw on 6 +1.48%
Overall Player-bet EV, across all hands:
Policy Overall Player EV
Always stand on 6 −4.36%
Always draw on 6 −4.03%
This assumes normal banker drawing rules.

Yes, mathematically you are absolutely right, I was curious if peoples perception matched that though?

I would go as far as to say that you should only get information on what makes a good game from other game inventors here, because this forum's membership is so unrepresentative of the regular casino gamblers who do not care about mathematics.
If there was a 3:2 payout for a 3-card 9, I bet people would hit the 6 more.
