Re-posted from another area:

Looking at the action from the Raving New table games area, I think we need a new topic area for this.

We can touch upon:
* Designing new games - the basic rules and objectives that make for better games
* Properly Naming your new beast (should be moderated by Eliot Jacobson !!!)
* The math Pros for your baby's math report - "The Big Five" (Shackleford, Ko, Jacobson, Mousseau and Liu. This cabal sounds like a law firm, but it's not!)
* The brainstorming process: how'd ya come up with it??!!
* The Patent Process nightmare! How to approach it, your options explained
* Getting investors - (is there one born every minute?)
* Preparing a good demo presentation without requiring valium.
* Preparing good documentation - writing the sale sheet, and the product description guide for casino usage
* Baby-sitting YOUR FIELD TRIAL
--- and ---
* The New games of 2008 to now:

- Bet Your Luck (BYL Enterprise)
- Three-Card-21 (Gaming Network)
- Wish-card Poker
- Bust up Blackjack by Tess Krantz
- EZ Pai Gow (DEQ/Lubin-Jones, LLC)
- Rabbit Hunter 5-card Stud (Roger Snow/Shufflemaster)
- Hi-Low Pai Gow (Cary Lucier/Unlimited Concepts)
- Super-Bacc
- Moneysuit-31
- Two Cards High (This game has a REAL interesting story, and reveals the Dangers of a bad field trial!)
- FortuneTeller Blackjack
- Die Rich dice (or a die, actually)
- Pai Gow Express (Stanley Ko/Roy Ritner, 5-card Pai Gow with three card Poker down, and 2 cards up)
Beware of all enterprises that require new clothes - Henry David Thoreau. Like Dealers' uniforms - Dan.

Here's a completely new one that hasn't even been marketed much to date (although it has got a Nevada Field Trial site).

"Never Bust Blackjack"
(A Blackjack variation where players cannot bust).

Well, Greg,

As a fellow game designer, you and Mr. Kim, have got to read his story!

http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2009/sep/12/new-table-game-edges-closer-floor/

Because...he [George Boutsifakos - a strip dealer] came up with a real interesting little game that has a real interesting history - Glad you asked !!

He came up with a five card game where your goal is to get a "Baccarat zero-value hand" with ANY THREE of your five cards - AND put up the best two-card side you can, if you can do a three card 10, 20, or 30 value hand. Dealer has to do the same. Include bonus bets, etc.
It requires just a little bit of thought, enough to make it interesting and challenging with money on the line.

It's very much like playing Stanley Ko's/Roy Ritner's 5-card Pai Gow game variant, three card poker down, and a two-cards up. But it's different, and it's like NO other game, as it does not use poker for both sides of the hand, making it a little challenge; it uses a baccarat valued hand on one side, on the three-card "high" side - and a poker-evaluated hand on the two-card side, like Pai Gow.

Two-cards high is a Very Sharp little game that BOMBED in Las Vegas during its Field trial, - and then TOOK OFF in South Korea, - where YOU'RE from Mr. Jeon - and where its table drop/action is something like $500,000 a month in buy-ins. Holy Scamoly! Only busy Baccarat gets THAT kind of high-level action. Very impressive.

His story says a lot of what table games designers go through...rags mixed with a few riches, ups and downs galore... the above link is the shiznitz on what he went through...

The interesting thing about South Korean casinos is that South Korean citizens aren't allowed in them. So the game must have caught on with the Japanese, Chinese, and various white people who frequent those places. (I think Koreans are allowed into one casino in rural Gangwon province).

..yes it did, - indeed.

But that's what really counts...a new game catching on with the poluation that visits that casino...Doesn't matter their race...it matters their cash.... it's called action. Big time, in that case.

Good for George...

Speaking only for myself, I can't think of anybody. If there were such a known casino game investor, he would have no shortage of game inventors to choose to invest in.

Game inventors ask me all the time. Unless it is one of a very small number of people who I know have good games, and are wearing out shoe leather getting them out there, I flat out say "not interested."

Mr. Wizard,

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I understand what your are saying about the fact that if there was a casiono game investor they would be harassed all the time regarding new games. although, I thought that if i would ask the question anywhere it would be here.

I have only had the ability to perform a few live demos in Atlantic city and CT, although i am still pressing the get more. I had recieved a letter of interest from one casino stateing how they liked the game and that it covered each aspect of the I.C.E. checklist for new games. Although, i never got a full comitment from them.

Do you have any feedback for me regarding My game Money$uit 31? If so I would appreciate it!
