Diamond Jo's
Is this the first install?
Dubuque is farther from STL than I hoped though. I dunno if I'll get around to making it. :(
Is there a link to the rules somewhere?
sign these papers. " GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Quote: beachbumbabsThere's a link to a thread where I presented it for the forum to discuss last fall.
Thanks. I wasn't actively reading the forum when that thread took place.
I wouldn't play, but I'm not your target audience, so that doesn't mean anything. I hope it does well! Maybe Casino War can finally be taken out back and shot...
I'll take all the thanks for the compliment, Buzz, as Kent never served. Instead, he was busy battling on the gridiron and getting ass kicked playing for Oklahoma State when they used to suck! So, that's where he gets his tenacity and never say die attitude from! lolQuote: BuzzardHey LUCK Thanks to you and your brother for your service.
From napkin to the casino floor, you got there congrats!! Now may the performance gods smile upon you....best wishes!!
You have been working on this prior to your arrival here, right? Or did you somehow come up with an idea and turn it into an install in just months?!?!
Quote: BuzzardAnd a bit of advice to other inventors. Never discuss your game idea with a woman who might be your ex-wife someday. GRRRRRR
That is less humorous than you might think, Buzz...but all comedy falls in that category, I guess. lol...for those who don't know Buzz: this is a running joke of his.

For those who do not know Babs, she is still in a state of denial.. Aceofspades was my lawyer in the divorce.
Quote: WizardCongratulations! I'm one step closer to that yachting trip (Babs promised to take me on her yacht when her game makes her a gazzilionaire).
But if all she can afford is a little 15' flat boat, I totally call firsties. I'll bring the bait!

No! No! No! Babs is gonna move to Montana. Somehow I missed the thread about her inventions. I'm highly impressed. Congratulations, Babs. Meet me in Montana. For some reason that escapes me, I have an affinity for rich women.
Quote: BuzzardMickey, you are breaking the heart of your favorite sheep.
I've never met a rich sheep.
Don't miss out on his great offer, BABS !
And this is the truth ! Electronic billboard on Business I70. Candle Light Dinner..... On Valentines Day...Make Reservations
It's at McDonalds ! So far only Mission has RSVP'd.

I'll never understand rich people.
But I will take that powered inflatable on the deck.
I was told my wife and I could take that boat out for my honeymoon when I was in St Martin (it was docked in St Barts). Sadly, it didn't work out because the boat had to sail to Florida for an event the next week.
Me neither.Quote: FaceI'll never understand rich people.
Nor does Lewis Black. Here's what he'd do with the money:

A rich man is just a poor man with money.

To be clear, I wasn't poo-pooing you, personally. I could imagine going out on one (barely). It's the desire of ownership that is beyond me =)
Quote: BuzzardTrust me Face. I have know a few rich men. A rich man is just a poor man with money.
I have to agree with this statement. A rich man knows just as much sadness as a poor man. I've been both. I'm an old rail rider. Money will not buy you happiness. I always avoid the question of whether I am happy or not. I don't have to sweat anything, anymore. Does it make me happy? I'm happy that I don't have to sweat paying the bills. The rest of it, no.
But I don't know what I can do at this point. I'm a survivor. I'm very proud of that.
"But I still haven't found what I'm looking for." U2
been there, very small, under a thousand slots.
It's a SHFL casino, all their table games are
SHFL.
"Mississippi Stud Poker, 3 Card Poker, Pai Gow, Let It Ride Bonus, and Fire Bet on Craps are trademarks used under license from SHFL entertainment, Inc."
It's in the middle of the middle of the
Midwest, pig farmer red neck country.
Pig farmers and corn farmers. It's a
small casino, these people are set in
their ways. They smoke Marlboro's, drink
Coors Light, and play the same game
every time they go to the casino. It seems
like a new game would be a hard sell
here. The space is limited so that if it doesn't
start making money right away, they won't
have a lot of tolerance for wasting the
space.
We have a local casino that has 1500 slots,
it's small too. They've had the same table
games since they opened in 2011. I asked
about it and they said they tried two newer
games but nobody played them. Midwesterners
are superstitious, new things scare them.
I can kind of see the logic of putting a new game
in this kind of market. The 'if they play it here
they'll play it a anywhere' mentality. Tough sell,
though. Casinos like this are where new games
go to die, more often than not.

How about "GAMBLERS" are superstitious?
Most casino execs won't try a new game in an tourist or larger market because they first want to see if the game will have "legs". It's almost a given that a game has to make it in a local market because all the other markets are too risk adverse. Larger markets feel they have no reason to take any risks and, therefore, they rarely do. 21+3 has been played the South and Midwest for almost a decade before being a "new" game in Nevada as recently as a couple of years ago. While it's still VERY early, "Match 'Em Hi Low" has been being played in a "middle of nowhere" Iowa casino since October and it's outperforming many of the traditional games and even some of the the widely known proprietary ones. Bottom line -- Location alone doesn't determine your fate and every game has to get its proverbial "foot in the door" in somewhere!

Ultimate Texas Holdem/Mississippi Stud has been a Missouri staple for quite awhile now too. And 21+3 has been around forever. I think St. Louis might be the nation's capital for that game; it's difficult to find other BJ sidebets here. Vegas probably balked at it because house edge is low, but CET Vegas has really embraced that garbage house edge "Extreme" game.
Quote: ThermosKnowing Shuffle Master, I am sure this isn't the only place they will test the game. They probably went there first because it's easy to get new games approved there.
Exactly my understanding. More sites to come. One step at a time.

Luck,
Your comments are very much appreciated, as is your perspective. I'm quite grateful there are properties like DJ's who are willing to give a new game a chance and I hope they make buckets of money doing it. I think EB's comments were offensive and unnecessary, as an Iowan for over a decade, and counterproductive to this thread or topic. It's already hard enough, as the inventors on here often talk about, to get initial placements. Why insult those who do, or their customers? Simply classless move on an inventors forum. Easy to spoil it for everyone with that kind of nonsense. Thanks again for weighing in.

But truthful, you left that part out. I don't see
you rebutting anything I said. Why speak about
how things really work, when we can just be
ever hopeful. I prefer Mike's words of wisdom:
"It's not whether you win or lose; it's whether or not you had a good bet."
Most people have no idea what that even means.
Truer words were never spoken when it comes
to gambling.

Don't put words in my mouth. I don't agree that anything you said is truthful. It's just your opinion selectively formed and consistent with your worldview, which I do not share. Yours holds a disadvantage to the many other users and readers of this forum in that it can do real damage to the opportunities made available. So I am rejecting your premise publicly instead of ignoring your negative post as I do more often than not.
