Hi, I'm glad I found this site. I'd like to throw some numbers at more than just my gambling junkies...er...friends. I'd like to hear your feedback on this.
In a nutshell, you need 5 consecutive spins to result in specific ranges to win the bonus.
Its called the "Bull Rush Bonus"...for now.
You wager any amount in a unique area on the felt. $.25, $1, one of your colored chips, etc.
The wheel is spun. If the result is red, the first hit is successful, and the rush is on! If the result is not red, the bets are swept and may be re-bet for the next spin.
After 1 successful spin, a marker is placed on a unique area of the felt for tracking the wins. Kind of like what was added for the "Riverboat Roulette" variant, but with 5 rectangular sections instead of 6.
The marker will be a 3" round white disc with a picture of a bull on it and the words "The Rush Is On".
The bonus bets are now locked. No additional money can be added or removed from them.
Spin #2 must come up in the 2nd column for the rush to continue. If not, the bets lose and are swept. The marker/disc is also reset.
With the 2nd successful hit, the marker moves to the next area of the 5, titled "Own the Road".
Spin #3 must result in the 1st 12 numbers for the rush to continue. The marker is moved to the 3rd area of the layout. (You're getting it now, right?)
Spin #4, the 2nd 12.
Spin #5, the 3rd 12, and the rush pays off!
Looks like a 200 to 1 payout, and a corresponding 5.32% house edge. Wins about once every 212 tries, on the average.
The hit/win frequency isn't high, but hopefully will get the whole table screaming when it gets close to a payoff.
What do you think?

So winning combination is "RED/2nd Column/1st 12/2nd 12/3rd 12".....I don't get it. What is special about this order of events?

I don't see any reason that a player will make this bet and not parlay five times.
Aside note, I know a director that wants to put a side bet for roulette. Haven't heard anything yet worth passing along to him.

Ditto.
With my original idea, Hit It Again, the bet could be easily mimicked with a simple parlay strategy. The compelling feature of my idea was that on most tables, you could not parlay to the same result because of table limits. It turns out that that isn't very compelling.
With the original version of my Poker For Roulette idea, I learned that it is too much to ask people to wait five spins for resolution.
And as Paradigm asks, what's so special about the sequence you presented? What's the compelling feature of the bet? Why would someone bet it? The payout? They could do better with the parlay scheme.
Bottom line: I do not believe the idea presented in the original post has much merit.
Yeah, what about it?Quote: AceCrAAckersAside note, I know a director that wants to put a side bet for roulette. Haven't heard anything yet worth passing along to him.

It's taken a few years of thinking and tinkering to get to my current version, a three spin version of Poker For Roulette.
I do believe that I am at the point where the next step is a field trial.
Aces: Either have your person go on my website to check it out and contact me, or PM me with the person's contact info. I'd be greatly appreciative.

Just an idea to throw out there. I didn't think about the parlaying option, ya got me there.
There's nothing special about the events, just a way to create a 200 to 1 shot for the player. Its appeal would mostly be in the way it is presented on the layout, having something like a storyline for each step of the progression.
So if 5 spins is too many spins to wait for, what would work? Would 3 be too many as well?

Ace: Thanks.
Steve: I don't know if three spins is too many either. I do know that two spins doesn't provide enough variation to make it work.
