It happened again. Caesars lured me to Harrahs with a Waterfront Tower room bait all comp'd for the weekend and when I got here, they switched me to a Harbour Tower room. If this happened once, I wouldn't mind but this happens every single time. I'm beginning to believe that it's their policy. Does anyone else experience the Caesars bait and switch or am I just a victim of variance?

It's happened to me several times...though they usually give me some free play or comp $ toward food "for my trouble". Always at Harrahs, no other place in AC has done it to me.

Raw deal. At least a Marina room if not the expected Bayview fallback. Did they offer any mea culpas? If it was this weekend, it might have been tight with both St. Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day.

I'm guessing that if you don't complain about it, it will keep happening.

Do you have a host? If so, complain. If not, ask to talk to a host, and complain. If you got a room of lower value than what you were offered, they should make it up to you in some way. Extra food comps, or some freeplay, or something. Make it clear that you aren't coming back ever again if they don't give you what they promised you (and follow through if they don't fix it). It's clear that they want you there or they wouldn't be sending you offers -- you have some leverage here.

Back when I was frequenting AC more often, I seriously considered giving CET my play and by the recommendation of some people here, I checked out TripAdvisor. It has never happened to me, but I read that many people were thrown into Claridge (when CET owned it) when told they would be Bally's.

For those of us abroad, can you please explain what the big difference is between the two? towers? Thank you.

They still do that. That has happened to me there too. Booked the Dennis but got the Claridge.

It happened to us but we weren't bothered by it. A free room for my wife's modest penny slot play was fine. It brought back fond memories of the Claridge of old.

Harrah's AC has 5 towers...from north-to-south...Harbor, Atrium, Marina, Bayview & Waterfront.

The Harbor tower is the oldest among the five, and so has the most dated rooms, smaller bathrooms, worn carpets, etc.
I have found the HVAC system in the Harbor Tower to be unacceptable, especially in the summer.

The Waterfront Tower is the newest tower, with more modern bathrooms.

The condition of the WF rooms varies, the party kids can beat those rooms up pretty good.

There's kid vomit all over this hotel. It was fresh in the Harbour Tower elevator last night. The point is not about Harbour Tower vs. Waterfront Tower. It's about giving me the room that I reserved! I think it's a terrible policy to promise one thing and then deliver another thing of less quality and just because it's comp'd, I'm supposed to be thrilled about it.

Every time I book my room at the Rio, non-smoking, two beds, strip view... they ALWAYS say that they cannot guarantee such, but they will likely succeed. Unless when booking someone tells you that what you are booking might not be available, then they are flat out wrong......At a minimum they should offer you more free play/food comps/etc...

I like the Marina tower. The rooms are in disrepair for little things, but I value them for their elevators being right off the casino floor and still some nice views of the marina. I agree I would be disappointed with Harbor tower after being promised Waterfront and not getting compensation like the others did. You should have still tried being moved the next day and not being stuck there. It must suck having the anxiety fearing they'll do it again then having it happen. Let last time be the last time and arrive earlier or allow your displeasure more known. Close, baby, close! Don't get beat up like that other guy though.

My room isn't bad. It's actually pretty good. Nice water pressure and the hot water is hottish. The drain drains, lights work.
My annoyance is rooted in the fact that in another thread, I was able to demonstrate how easy it is for a lowly Platinum player like myself to reserve a Watertower room. Well, it is easy to reserve a Watertower room but you'll never actually get it.

On a related note, I cancelled my Harrah's reservation for the beginning of April. I went over to Borgata and reserved a Fiore suite for the same weekend, not comp'd but not too expensive either. Caesars can beg me if they want me to stay at any of their properties again then I'll give it all the consideration that it deserves.

The Fiore suites are nice. I'm a red card holder and twice have been upgraded for no charge. I suppose that's one difference between Harrah's and Borgata.

If you aren't particularly picky about your room, the Fiores can be considered a downgrade from a regular room, in that they are all at the very end of the hallway. Sure, you get lots of room, but those extra 100 steps count big time if you have to pee really bad.

ETA, I just checked, we have a comped Fiore for week nights in March.
