200+% payback [yeah I know, the math doesn't feel right...

OK, bear with me, only 2nd time poasting in this forum.
background:
I'm on SSI and normally play online poker. Back in Oct. of last year,
my computer crapped out, and I was offline for a month, with considerable time on my hands.
Thanks to some research, the fact that I had played VP in the past, and the wizard's helpful
strategies and tables, I found a mildly lucrative diversion, 5 days a week.

How it works:
15.50 for bus ticket from Scranton to Mt.Airy.
Arrive @ Mt. Airy, get 35.00 in slot comp.
28 spins, 1.25/spin, bus/shuttle take me home, 90 mins. later.
Typical payout table for Mt. Airy [highlighted in red box]:


93% is meh for u guyz, I'm sure.
But,
93% of 35.00 minus 15.50 bus fare ~=winwinwinwinwin, albeit usually small daily plunderz.

My net profitz so far:


I discovered another machine there called "Active X".
Allows 10-way Dueces Wild @ 0.05/base bet or 0.010/base bet.

Here's the strange part.
Max it out @ 10 hands, 10 bets/hand,
[5$/spin for nickels, 10$/spin for dimes],
multipliers kick in as follows:
2x Royal
2x 4 dueces
2x Wild Royal
3x 5 of a kind
12x Straight Flush
7x 4 of a kind
5x Full House
5x Flush
2x Straight
2x 3 of a kind
The payout stays the same as for 5 coins.
So you have to cut the multipliers in half, giving you:
1x Royal
1x 4 dueces
1x Wild Royal
1.5x 5 of a kind
6x Straight Flush
3.5x 4 of a kind
2.5x Full House
2.5x Flush
1x Straight
1x 3 of a kind
Then I fired up Excel, and head asplode.

Only half of your bet on Ultimate X goes toward the current hand's payoffs; the other half goes to "earn" the opportunity to get the multipliers. So with no multipliers activated (if you got no winners on the previous hand), you are playing the current hand at less than 50% return. To look at the other side of the coin, you have to be playing at least a total of "20X" for all ten hands (for example, one hand and 10X, one at 2X, and the others at 1X) to realize the nominal value of the paytable. So in your figures, what you're getting 200% of is...fifty percent.

Well done! According to vpfree2.com, the best game at Mt. Airy is Double Double Bonus at 99.96% return. It is only available in $1 denomination. If you played one dollar at a time, the return would be 98.98%. The variance would be more than your Deuces Wild game, but you would see a significant improvement in your results.

I'll look into this. @ 35$slot comp/day to work with, high variance can get ugly. My worst outing so far has been -$4.50, right now, I can live w/ that.
