I have a question about the Wizard of Odds 8/5 Bonus Poker Problem Hands
Problem hands 50 and 51 both state "Keep 3 to a straight flush (type 4)", but the alternatives (QT suited and Jack respectively) are higher on the Traditional Strategy Table.
I'm new to video poker -- am I missing something here?

As I understand, the "conflict hands" listed are examples of where traditional strategy is bested by an exception.
You're likely enough to draw two pair, trips, straight, flush, or straight flush holding 3SF, that holding the obvious high card or two high cards is worth slightly less.

May the cards fall in your favor.

@Dieter Every conflict hand on that page follows the traditional strategy with the exception of the two hands I listed.

Sorry, my mistake.
I guess I'm not seeing why 234 suited would be a type 4 rather than type 3, other than the strategy says to file 234 under type 4. (I only see the one gap - the King can't wraparound.)

Quote:Straight Flush draw (type 3) = Straight flush draw where high cards minus gaps = -1 & all ace-low draws.
Straight Flush draw (type 4) = Straight flush draw with two gaps and no high cards & includes 234 suited.
The more I'm looking at this, I think I need clarification on the meaning of "includes 234 suited".
May the cards fall in your favor.

You're absolutely right. 2-3-4 suited should be type 4. The page has been corrected. Thank you all for the correction.
