Quote: WizardofnothingSo basically you are saying you never hit more then three of a kind or a full house if playing dueces wild- if you played for more then an hor lifetime I would say that is more then 40 billion to one or impossible
Well when you play $5 coin in per week it is possible it could take 8 weeks to get one.

I think moderators should be able to suspend based on "apparent evidence the poster is under 21". This would fit for Alexander here and of course Kentry.
You could make a case that some people are merely low in IQ, or [maybe more likely] affected by Asperger's enough to be unable to post in a normal way, but I think for those instances you are doing them a favor to decrease their interest in gambling same as someone under 21.

After taking a break he has probably come to the realization that worrying about why and who has been suspended was a complete wast of time.Quote: RS#Wheres1BB?

Axel made comment about 1bb not caring about a suspension. I said he was too early, meaning that is a joke which would take place on April 1st.
Quote: mcallister3200BB is still wondering why Kentry originally got suspended. Meanwhile I sit here waiting for an article about how to write a piss poor article about things I have very narrow knowledge of.
That's twice. After just days shy of two years and over 600 posts, I would think that you'd know enough about me to realize that I'm not going to offer a meaningful challenge to a blanket statement.
From your post, it seems you're accusing me of having limited knowledge of what I write about, in effect, your entire gripe seems to boil down to me not knowing everything about gambling. Okay, I don't, acknowledged.
I certainly disagree about my Articles being poor, though I would acknowledge that some are better than others and some are far better than others. A few of them probably are poor. I think every writer I've ever read has had a range of quality amongst his or her body of work.
That's even true of other gambling writers, some of Dancer's LVA Articles are fluff, in my opinion, while some are very useful. Dancer's a terrific writer, overall. A few of Grosjean's Articles have been fluff, a few of them have addressed matters so specific as to only pertain to a very small number of Advantage Players, but overall he's terrific. I would say both are more knowledgeable than I am, but they are also years ahead of me in both age and experience.
Perhaps you simply have considerably more knowledge than I do, and if that's the case, then you don't necessarily reflect my target audience.
Also, with respect to what I said about Dancer, I also acknowledge that some of my Articles could probably be considered fluff by some people.
Case in point - Boomtown Casino in Biloxi.
It's a smaller place, very much smoke filled with poorer ventilation than other casinos - or there just happened to be many more smokers around than the norm. I know it's erroneous, but my thinking is that smaller places have to try harder, so the comps might have been better.
My first but of free play there was $25. Not wanting to stick around or take full advantage of the offer - and the pay tables being slightly better with $1 credits, I had 5 hands to play at 5 bucks per round (as opposed to a smarter play of using quarters with a slightly worse pay table. (5/7 for quarters, 5/8 for dollars - they did have some 6/9 in the non-smoking area - but they'd been moved/removed)
5 hands - zippo.
However, I have had one machine suck away $40 bucks (8 hands) with nothing - only for me to push the bad luck thoughts out of my head and realize that with enough bankroll, the machine would come around. It did, with straights, flushes, trips, full houses, one right after the other. I was dealt half of them. No thinking required.
It could be that you're confusing one strategy over another.
Once, I was not paying close attention (shame on me!) and saw I was playing Deuce's wild and not Aces and Faces. (my preferred game - slightly higher variance than JoB, but more than 20% of the possible quads paying more make it worth losing a bit on the flush and full house for me. ) The strategies of the two games are different enough to cost you some bucks - especially if you don't see any Deuces! (It took about 4 hands in before I saw one and had to smack my head and wonder why I didn't have a V-8)
My best advice is to ensure you have a sufficient bankroll and stay at the same machine. Don't get up - just stay there and keep feeding the machine. HOWEVER!
Be sure you have mastered the strategies for getting the most out of your money. If you're not sure what to do when you get AAKQJ (with the AKQJ the same suit), then you need to use a software trainer until you do know. Otherwise, you're just treating it like a mindless slot machine. You could win, but the odds are less in your favor.
Why? It's all the same.Quote: ukaserex
