There is a casino nearby where my in-laws live that offers 2 points per 3 dollars wagered in vp. Points are valued at 1 cent. They have a 50 cent. 9/6 job machine. My question is if I were to want to play this profitably. How much could I realistically earn? (Promotion going all month of November)

From the points, you'll earn $0.0167/hand. From the house edge, you'll lose $0.0115/hand. That net is $0.0052. So, each hand will make you about half a cent. Say you play 600 hands/hour - that's about $3.12/hour of expected value.

The value may be tied up in future offers such as free play, slot tournaments, gifts, comps. Perhaps they have drawings and other things going on.

If they have other incentives, and you enjoy VP, and you have the bankroll, I say go for it and see what they send you. Someone may know what offers should be expected, if any.

This isn't a home run(unless the other offers are significant), assuming they have crappie offers it's something some AP's may use as filler during slow times or to earn comps. Some people live in places without anything positive they would actually be elated to find something like this.

I wouldn't get involved to much if you're short on funds. You may want to elaborate on your situation and someone can give you better advice.

the value is tied up in free play that can be used for more VP, but the free play doesn't redeem points.

I guess its not the greatest find in the world, but its at a casino I like, and I enjoy VP. I havn't found anything worth playing for a while, so I am extatic that I found this.

thanks for the feedback everyone :)

Don't discount the mailers too. Freeplay and food comps. Playing a positive game and getting stuff back is pretty awesome.

Mine and another AP's favorite "play for comps" play was at a small off-strip casino that was giving out $25/wk in freeplay (meh) and $12 EVERY other day in food comps. Pretty much no loss in EV, as long as you play on a multiplier day. The food comp was for a cafe where the most expensive item was like $15.

I'd love to get $25 in free play every week. Beats the $5 my local Casino gives me every Thursday. :)

Just imagine if they gave away free haircuts.
