Without finding out the ins and outs of progressive machines I became a prog chaser. One casino I play at has a 9/6 JoB progressive and the strike point is usually hit everytime I play there. I have been using a trial version of VPW (great concept but execution is a bit lacking since it looks like it was programmed in 2000 or so) and making adjustments to my strike point. Throwing away high pairs for 3 to a royals, ATs instead of AJ AQ AK unsuited, stuff like that.

Anyway, I wanted to find out if there are teams in Vegas that go after these machines, which I'm sure they do based on the podcasts I've listen to, and if they do, how do they operate? Do they pool their bankrolls and profits, or does the manager pay the players a wage + bonus sharing for royals? I'm highly interested in this because I am making a move to Vegas and seeking these out, but looking to reduce variance as much as possible. Is this even a worthwhile venture? Should I stick to single +EV machines for tiny profits?

I'll be playing VP as a side project, not full time so I'm not worried about going busto, but I would like to increase bankroll to exponentially move up in stakes.

They did a show on the topic https://wizardofodds.com/audio/
Even if you could do it, it gets boring sitting at a machine. Heaven and Hell is what you're asking for. If I had to be on a team, I wouldn't like it because it is all on the honor system and there is no way to verify their stories when you cannot watch them. Read up on it and research before you do it and expect once you get there, you might not want to continue with it.
I am a robot.

I listened to this show and the Gambler's bookshop with Frank Kneeland. It was an interesting idea that I found would be perfect for me because I like playing +EV games that count towards casino comps. I do this solo right now but am quite limited due to being in a crappy VP state (WA).

The main thing is finding a good team who are already established and I can trust. My bankroll doesn't let me play higher than quarters at the moment so any extra edge would be great.

Please tell me you are in Vegas now as there is no VP in Washington state, just virtual “scratch tickets".

I drive out to Oregon for my VP fix. This time I had a comped hotel and $50 in freeplay so it was worth the drive.

Going back to Vegas next week and will make a promise to only play +EV machines, unless the negatives heavily outweigh the cost (free comps, rooms, etc).
