Is an offer of double or nothing on a hand in full pay Jacks or Better (9/6) always a sucker bet? My gut tells me that it is because much of what one is doing in this game is treading water (i.e. even money on a high pair) and you'd better "take what you can get." I love JB 9/6 and find it to be one of the easier games to play for an extended period of time using the simple strategy from the companion site but I wanted some more experienced opinions. Thanks!

The only thing more pathetic than watching a gambler who's afraid to lose is watching a gambler who is afraid to win. And I've seen plenty of both.

Double up is a mathematically fair bet (like odds in craps); it just increases the variance.
