The street art pics are amazing! I've never seen anything remotely as good in N Am. As to the food, I think the photos from your Asian TR looked more appealing. I'm not that surprised you ended up with a case of Montezuma's Revenge after eating all that street food. Colombian cuisine may be appealing (those queso arepa looked tasty) but I would rather try it in a real restaurant or at home.
My goal of being well informed conflicts with my goal of remaining sane.

Good stuff. Couple of questions. Do you book all/most your flights in advance on set dates? Will you be visiting Easter Island or Galapagos Islands by chance? What looks like the most popular casino game played by others in Colombia?

My first "exposure" to Colombia was the movie Romancing the Stone (1984). Loved this red Cobra scene:

Some things are best left unsaid.😀 How do you think this vacation is getting funded?

Tumblingbones itís hard to compare them for me as the cuisines are so different. Honestly with the amount of street food I eat Iím surprised this is the first time I got sick.

Keeneone yes I book a lot in advance, itís much cheaper that way. I wonít be visiting either of those, a flight to Easter islands is like $500 RT. As far as the casino games they seem to like BJ and roulette the most with a few carnival poker games mixed in. Baccarat is not played much here.

Have I seen any? No
Have I been offered it more times than I can count? Yes

Damn Max you caught me, Iím clearly the most feared and secretive cocaine dealer on the Canadian prairies.

Well my plan for tonight was to do the write up for Cartagena but the computers they have in this hostel are the biggest pile of crap so I only got through half the write up before the computer decided it was done being used. Iíll finish it on our 4 hour bus ride back to Lima tomorrow. Scouts honour!

4 Hour bus rides in Peru. Remind me
again why I quit traveling. It can't be
as bad as riding on an non air conditioned
public bus in Rome in July and almost
gagging on the garlic sweat smell of
non bathing Romans.

Wherever I traveled I didn't eat well or sleep well,
was always uncomfortable with the heat and
humidity or the rain, and was inconvenienced
at every turn. Always when it was time to go
home waves a relief would wash over me. It
eventually dawned on me not to do that to
myself any longer. Never regretted that decision.

Right now I have been hooked on watching hiking
videos for the last 6 months on YouTube. These
people that go on 6 month hikes on the Appalachian Trail
or the Pacific Crest Trail. They fascinate me because
it's something I would never do in a hundred years.
I hate camping with a passion, yet enjoy seeing others
do it. Schadenfreude I guess..
