Wholly craps! BJ roller coaster from hell. Went in to play a few hours and redeem some mailers. Had some cash, took a marker, sat down with 9K. 1st hour went OK, I'm up, had a couple scotch's. Really hot relief dealer kept me in the game but my main dealer couldn't deal me a win on a big hand to save her own life, which I was considering taking ;-! 'Bout seven hours in I'm down to a couple hundred in red and green chips, almost slid them to to the dealer as a tip, with some smartass remark about taking the last of my chips. That would have been a looooonnnnggg drive home. But I played another hour and recovered a K or two. The sun came up, and with the sun came my new dealer, John XXXXXX, my newest hero. Quick, witty, extremely accurate, tremendously personable, players came, players went, at times we played heads up. At some point they started selling drinks again (had cut me off at 2:00 AM). She said something from behind me and turned around face to face with a couple of the biggest melons I've ever seen. I froze, just for a moment, simply mesmerized, then politely bent over and looked at her feet, then declared (prolly a little too loud), NICE ANKLES! So with me sitting with my back to the main traffic flow John is now calling out ANKLES anytime I should enjoy the scenery, and he's dealing BlackJacks on big bets, and politely busting on my doubles and splits, not every time but I'm winning 2 out of 3 on the hands that matter.
About 1:00 PM John's about to go on break again, I've been at the table for 13 hours, I'm basically even, I've been awake for 30 hours at least. I colored up and ran for the hills, thru the hills actually. My room key wouldn't let me in, I'd missed checkout. The front desk gave me new keys, offered me an energy drink, thanked me for my business. I grabbed my bag, looked at the bed that I didn't get to sleep in, thanked the maid that was coming in as I was going out. Was still a long drive home, I think I might have slept thru it here and there along the way. Slept from 5:00 PM until 6:00 AM today, wife and kids had to do dinner without me.
If you're planning to find yourself at Harrah's Cherokee anytime soon, and like BJ, I'd advise you look around for John Xxxxxx, he can be magic, and will be fun even if you're losing. Tell him Two said Hi! I came home basically ahead by the amount of the vouchers, call it $1200, nothing to brag about, but that after several hundred in tips, and some more for scotch and more tips. Could have been much worse, actually it was 'much worse' for much of a very long grind. Cheers, 2F
You weren't using speed count, were you??? ;-)
You had great value for money over that session ( apart from the unused room) But Jeez, it could have been SOOOOOoooooo bad if you'd busted out those last few $$$.
I wonder if you'd have reached for the ATM and thrown more at it?
I wonder what I would have done in that situation?
I have a healthy LOC at the establishment, I could have grabbed another 5k or 10K marker, no problem.Quote: OnceDearNice belated trip report.

However, I do not, or did not that night, have permission from my boss (wife) to dip further into our funds.
Those funds that were largely my funds, before I gave them to her for safekeeping ;-)
The sad part is, I had to change to a much smaller, less aggressive, progressive/regressive just to stay in the game without another marker. Just when the game turned, Damnation! Had I grabbed another marker, stayed with my normal game, I'd have gone home with several K more. But I was beat up, extremely ( make that very extremely ) doubtful of any significant comeback, already had some explaining to do, so to speak. But I can be stubborn, I still had some chips, I wasn't sleepy. 'Twas an odd night. Worked out OK that time ;-)
<edit> I've had some roller coaster rides besides that one, it just popped in my head as a response to Mikey's question about $100 to $1000.
An example, it's been posted before ( maybe, apparently my posting memory is faulty ;-)
Alaska cruise on Carnival (comped) in 2014. No LOC, boarded The Miracle with 10K, 5/5 wife and I.
Won 3K 1st night.
Won 4k 2nd night.
Won 8K 3rd night. All this on $10 BJ, CSM.
Lost 21K 4th night, still $10 BJ.
Won 6K last morning headed to port, ship running slow due to fog. I now love fog;-)
Finished trip up $85, that's 85 bucks. Left over 3K in tips prior to that, true story.
Also drank 55 scotch on the rocks.
Each one showed up as a $00.00 line item charge on the final bill for my wife's inspection ;-(
Used that 'scotch record' to verify my hours at the casino with another Cruiseline that never heard of me.
They comped me a suite, tee-Hee ;-) 2F

That time!
LOL, what about 'the other time'?
We all had at least one 'the other time' I know I did. I don't report those trips for shame!
lifetime loser, admittedly. I can share those as well.Quote: OnceDearThat time!

Already edited the previous OhDear, you might want to check the edit ;-)
Mikey, you are welcome. I had promised you a story, I gave you a story, all true. You can take $100 in and walk out with $1000, happens all the time for a few players. It is much easier to walk in with $1000 and turn it into $100. This is the truth.Quote: Mikey75Thanks for the story 2F. I can't handle your high level of play lol.
I have never bothered to look into AoS's speed count. I know it's on WOO, I read alot of the flack he got about it. I think most of that was sent in a joking manner, but I assumed it was not a very good count (relatively speaking). Enuf Speed Count, I think a member here got suspended defending one count vs another, and opining thoughts about counts, and motivations, and relationships, and ad nauseum.Quote: RomesWell that sounds like quite the adventure. Oh the long nights and the grinds. They're tough, but usually yield some good stories and the best feelings of "fighting for a win" if you can manage to come out ahead. The only thing I don't like about super long nights is that usually means down big trying to get back =/. Good story and thanks for sharing!

I played, I lost.
Big loss at first, then some redemption.
I will play again.
That is what the industry is built on, they got me.
;-)
the March 2026 Trip report I thought I posted before, so you may have read it before. I went to find it, couldn't, so posted again from a cut and paste off of email to a couple buds. Either I did post which I thought I did, or I didn't post which may have been the case. Beats the hell out of me. Like my play at the casinos....Quote: RSHave you posted this TR before? Either I'm getting deja vu or Ive read something quite similar to this before...
I wanted to find it, couldn't. I had referenced it in a response to Mikey. I posted it. If that makes twice, so be it.
Is there yet another someone I should apologize to? You don't count ;-)

<2nd edit > Nevermind the L2S question RS, I looked it up. Are you sure you know which site you are posting on at the moment ;-?

PS. nice report :^)
See ya'll in the fall, maybe.
Relief dealer's name during the 1st half (losing half) of the long session is not in my notes. But could be Jennifer. I say that because 'really Hot' lady dealers appear to be in short supply there, just IMO ;-)Quote: NostronWas the smoking hot dealer named Jennifer by chance??
