Made my way back out to Sands Bethlehem - first time back in years.
A few new things that weren't here the last time - lots of 2 deck games, and fbbj.
Something about this casino bugs me though - had a very similar experience as the prior time.
Basically - blowing through almost the entire bankroll (down to one final buy-in of 2k, no additional $100's onhand), table after table, and getting seriously wtf about all my broken double downs before turning it around to 180 all the way up and then some.
2 deck blackjack, PGP and Baccarat were all horrendous, and the only things that saved me was the 6 deck game.
On the downswing - worst hand was 500 up, get a pair of 6's, dealer showing a 4. Split the 6's, get a 10 on one, stand, get a 3 on the second, double and pick up a 10 for 19. Dealer shows a 14, draws the 7... (ugh) There was a dude hovering over me when it happened and he ran around the tables aaagghing from the mental wtf of having seen that.
On the upswing - i caught, but didn't play the king's bounty side bet (GAAH), for the 1000:1 payout for the 2 king of spades, with dealer blackjack... - the paytable was different - closest to lucky ladies pay table b, but suited 20 only paid 9:1 - Regardless, based off of the house edge calculation for lucky ladies - it would've been a garbage bet.
Most of my play was on the 50-3000 6 deck no-midshoe.
Got to try FBBJ for the first time - gets to be pretty interesting when you manage to catch a slew of split opportunities.

Quick question to those who may be able to back-of-the-envelope it - based on generating 140 in "comps" - what does that imply the bet volume was if most of that was at 6 deck blackjack with PA rules?

Sands seems like a place I should like but it has 2 very annoying things. The people that stand there watching over your shoulder, and also there seems to be a lot of awful players. Nobody there hits 12 vs 2, and last time a guy really got on my case for splitting 9s vs 8. Of course the dealer turned a 3 and got 21, but neither the dealer nor the pit boss would back me up on it.
For free bet, try playing 2 hands. I made some good money in Vegas last month doing that.

Sands gets more people watching them anywhere on earth because they cater to Asians on buses and give them 30-100 to come down - most use it then stand around all day waiting for the bus to leave-

Just in response to a couple of posts. People hovering behind me, when I'm playing is a pet peeve of mine. It just makes me nervous. I don't mind a lot of the other stuff that bothers people, loud players, drunks, smoking, misplayed hands, don't bother me much at all. But I can't stand when people hover behind me. It seems to be an Asian thing, used to happen to me a lot at GN AC, and the Taj. Mostly when waiting for the bus as others have mentioned. Maybe it's that other countries allow back betting other players hands?
