Was at turning stone recently, hit quads in Let it Ride the time before so was seeing if I could keep up the luck. Played 3CP at one point, and ran into a situation that left me baffled.
Hit 9TJ straight, dealer also has 9TJ. In such a scenario you get paid the PP and ante bonus, while ante/play push. Some dealers make the mistake of not paying the ante bonus, but in this case I was paid on the PP and bonus, but she took my ante and play. I was shocked.
OK, innocent mistake. I pointed it out. The way they settle hands there is a bit different then other places (and odd in my opinion). Once the dealer reveals their cards, they will cycle the players two times...the first time to collect any losing wagers (and cards if all wagers lost), and the second pass to pay any winning wagers and collect remaining cards. On this occasion, she kept my PP and cards there on the first pass, but took my Ante and play. I corrected her and she said she'd fix it on the second pass, fair enough. Second pass comes around and she pays my 6:1 PP and puts one unit down on the Ante spot (i.e., she paid my ante bonus but my ante and play were still gone). Essentially she treated my straight as a loss.
I corrected her a second time. She looked at me funny like I was obviously wrong. What's more, there were three other players at the table, all of which insisted I was wrong. I'm pretty young (late 20s) so the lady down at the table was chucking at this young fool who was trying to correct the dealer. The pit boss came over..looked at the cards (still on the table) and told me I was wrong. I was beyond baffled, and when I suggested they look at the camera, denied me and told me they already knew the answer.
The entire time I thought this was a pretty trivial thing...it's pretty hard to get confused about 3CP rules. So with five people laughing at me and rolling their eyes, I was aggravated and laughing at the same time. It was only dimes I was betting, but you know how it feels when you know you are right. 20 minutes later dealer goes on break and I explain the situation to the new dealer. Finally, had someone who understood the rules, and he took it up with someone when he left. The original dealer cam back, and after an hour or so (and yes, I was still grumbling) I could see a committee forming in the pit whispering and checking the 3CP rule thingy. After another 20 minutes, someone tapped the dealer (the original lady) on the shoulder and told her to pay me $20.
They explained the scenario to her, and she was still confused. They then tried to explain the scenario to me, and I was like "I KNOW." But I got my money.
I like the place, but will avoid that dealer in the future.

Turning stone has a sweat the money mentality. I am happy they will be getting some competition from other NY casinos.
They are so afraid of anyone betting any kind of money or winning. If you are winning alot they will switch dealers on you.
It doesn't surprise me bbc.co that the pitboss told you that you were wrong.

LOL oh turning stone. That place is a sweat joint like no other. They hate winners. I witnessed them staring down this total ploppy betting and winning black. Got them for about maybeee 4k. The pit boss looked like he was having an aneurysm. The dealers seem to all hate their lives there and treat you like you're the bane of their existence.
