I'll run the $5k FSP for 10% :)

But seriously, just run it on video BJ. Rather take 96% with little variance than 99.54% with high variance. At least, I assume most would. And you already know BJ!

They might have better electronic BJ units than that...don't those BJ machines with the pretty electronic dealers take FSP? If he can find a 3 to 2 unit...then that would be a good call.

As for myself, I would definitely have to grind some of it off playing 3 play 8/6 Bonus Deluxe w/Double Super Times Pay for quarters (98.99%) max. Love Super Times Pay. Strategy is basically like JoB for that game too.

I definitely don't recommend something like the $5000 slot. The EV may be okay, but I recommend low variance for situations like this. Unless you're really okay getting nothing from the freeplay (I wouldn't be).

Congrats on the big prize to turn it around!

I will likely wait until next trip so I can study VP and obtain a strategy card

I would play it now. A $5 machine with five credits a hand will only be 200 hands. Most of these will be common sense. The one or two that you aren't sure of could still win no matter how they are played. Is it really worth waiting for a one time very small sample?

I just pull up the WoO site on my phone and refer to it for any non-obvious hands. (Admittedly, I prefer Deuces Wild, which an experienced player could probably manage perfectly while blackout drunk...)

How do you even manage super-denom slots? Go to the cage, deposit, and ask them to print a ticket? The image of having to feed 50 hundreds in per pull is rather amusing though.

JoB is still a bit easier to me...and I like to play VP drunk...lol But I have a soft spot for Deuces, why I'm not sure...I have never hit deuces on that game for quarters or higher... :-\

It seems to me with all -EV games, that you have your best chances of winning by "one spin" or only a few, but also your best chances of losing it all. That latter chance has to be taken into consideration, math be damned!

Getting paid 80% for it is a terrible deal though. You'd get more than that by running it thru a terrible reel slot machine.

Yeah, but this is a guy who's playing up to $500 / hand on blackjack.

Even if he plays poorly on a good VP machine, or plays a poor paying VBJ, he can get > 95%.
Throwing away $750 in EV is way too much to save an hour of time.

Sat and played double deck for quite a while...could not catch a run...could not win with 20
The ridiculous number of hands where the dealer didn't bust are too many to list here

I was down 9k

I decided to sit at a shoe game and won 1k back very quickly

I am now taking a break to drink some water

Wow, very cool !

I would advise a little caution. I assume the casino has some fine print some where preventing the 5K-FSP from being bought and sold. So I would suggest:

a) contacting the Wizard and have him meet you to help with perfect play on VP ! Surely he would consult, if available, for $ 250 per hour ( ? ).

b) just print out his simplified strategy for 9/J JoB and follow that closely.

Yeah, but people here have already told you how to cash it out and what kind of %s you can expect :)

I'm strictly a tables APer but I still cash out my own slot play without losing more than 5% in value. (And that's with minimal studying. It's rare I get slot play so being 1 or 2% under optimal is fine w/ me)

Head to the high limit slots and play it
down and when the 5K is gone cash
out the profit. Do NOT continue to
play once it's gone. You could walk
away with a couple grand.

LOL SERIOUSLY?

it's worth far more than 2 grand without getting lucky, I would guarantee I would have above $4100 or more.

Ace I missed this.

I'm not going to start a bidding war or cut down anyone and kill the value for fellow APs, however I'm willing to participate with RS and Drich in the purchase at $4100.

It might be worth more, however there's time involved also a small risk the casino could get upset and disqualify the FP.

Good luck on the road back! My old host of many years is over there, Johnny F. He used to be at The Bellagio since the 'B' opened and he continually jokes with me about the aura and luck of the players there versus the Bellagio. Everyone I know that went to The Aria found it extremely difficult to stay positive. Maybe they just didn't go enough or the place changed the way they played? I am referring to the HL tables games only. Strange? Anyway stay positive thinking good luck!

Just played first session of the day -- just a mini-session of two shuffles of 2D

The first shuffle took 700 from me
Had a crazy hand of:

3,3 v dealer 7
Split 3 dealt another 3
Split 3 dealt another 3
First hand: 3, dealt 8 doubled got 8 for 19
Second hand: 3, dealt 7 doubled got 6 for 17
Third hand: 3, dealt 10 hit for a 5 for 18
Fourth hand: 3, dealt 10 hit for a Jack - busted
Dealer had 7, turned over and Ace for 18

Second shuffle went much better and I won 4 double downs

Well that's always nice =). If you're still looking for input, my two cents would be to find the best payout JoB machine in the high limit slot area and plug away 5 coin per go (someone suggested the $5 machine as you could burn the $5k in about 200 hands). All you'd have to do is play the 200 hands using the basic strategy and mathematically you should have just about $5k when you finish =P. That being said, if you do hit something for a big win I would assume you could instantly cash out the winnings and continue to play the free play as a free roll!

When does your plane leave? Did you double check the FSP won't expire within any time fame, etc? I worry for you Ace! lol

The casinos have only stopped me from using phone if I am makin a phone call. Otherwise, when each shuffle is over, I make a note of the high/low-lights of that shuffle and, since I am mostly playing 2D, it is not much to remember :-)
