Played 4.5 hours of $1/2 NL, bought in for $500, cashed out for $1,020. Trip is now +$4,845. Going to play some DirectBets at Harrah's, then checking out of Revel...

Chauncey told me that some Asian players do it out of superstition to avoid a run of bad luck after playing the hand as two pair.

What I heard (from an Asian player) was that if you're at the top there is nowhere to go but down, so Gee Joon with the Teen pair should be split. Presumably one should split Gee Joon with the Day pair as well since that's equally unbeatable if played as two pair.

Running bad at +EV games, hot at -EV games.
Played Spanish 21 at Bally's for a shoe, where the TC reached +Decatur. Still walked away -$600.
Then played PGT and won $875.
Trip is now +$5,220.

Won another $100 in DirectBets. Thinking about going for the Total Rewards milestone bonus (2,500 tier credits gets you 5,000 additional). There is a bank of $0.25 triple play bonus poker machines with $1,650 (6,600 credits) average Royal Flush payout per hand. I calculate the return at >100.40%
Hoping to hit the BBJ. Then this trip report will be truly epic. I might fly straight to Vegas.

Then I check ballysac.com for a room rate, which shows $17.50. I then ask a host to comp tomorrow night for me. He comes over and rudely tells me that my length of play is too short. I tell him a) it's $17.50 in room revenue in exchange for hundreds of dollars in theoretical losses, dining at their restaurants, massage and spa access b) my average bet was well over $200 for 3 hours a day and c) I'm playing $300 a hand right now, with $4K on the table. He scoffs and says "I've seen better".
LOL Bally's, no incentive to give you further action.
Thanks for the $5 in slot play BTW. I'm gonna enjoy that one.
Trip now officially ends at +$6,640 + $5 FSP.
