Hello to all !

Mississippi Stud Poker. A question for those who are good with math:
- what impact do you think the rule change will have on EV when the bet is pushed from a pair of 5 to 10, instead of from 6 to 10?

Is this a real rule change that is being proposed or implemented for Mississippi Stud or is it just a notional rule change that is part of a thought experiment? If its real, I find it to be very exciting.

On the infrequent occasions when you are dealt a 55 pair to start your EV will go from 2.177959 to 8.424490.

Unsuited K5,Q5,J5: EV goes from -0.901429 to -0.357959
Suited K5,Q5, J5: EV goes from -0.633265 to -0.068367
Unsuited 10,5 EV goes from -1.0 to ???? TBD
Suited 10,5 goes from -1.0 to ????TBD
Unsuited 9,5 goes from -1.0 to -0.893469
Suited 9,5 goes from -1.0 to -0.605714
Unsuited 8,5 goes from -1.0 to -0.85102
Suited 8,5 goes from -1.0 to -0.529082
Unsuited 7,5 goes from -1.0 to -0.81619
Suited 7,5 goes from -1.0 to -0.453469
Unsuited 6,5 goes from -1.0 to -0.78517
Suited 6,5 goes from 0.960000 to -0.385306

Then there are all the times when you styart out with a playable 2 card hand that does not contain a 5 (Such as AK) and then make a 55 pair in the next three cards giving you a push.

Doing the math in my head I can project that this rule change would result in flipping the house advantage to an advantage for the player.
So many better men, a few of them friends, are dead. And a thousand thousand slimy things live on, and so do I.
