I get that you’re caught up in the moment but I’d never pose for a photo like that. I’d want to avoid as much publicity as humanly possible. You’re just asking for trouble. Ask for a mask from the pit and put on a hat and try to remain as anonymous as humanly possible.
Quote: HunterhillI would tip zero. Unless you tip a large amount 100k or more they will badmouth you. I would rather give it to family.

Of course. It’s not like he won essentially unlimited wealth. If you want to be magnanimous, give the $1 million to a charity of your choosing, not a bunch of workers, who you only interacted with one of!
Quote: DRichAnd when you tipped $5000 you would be bad mouthed for years by the dealers. If we assume 100 dealers that day each would get $50. You would be called very bad names. I have no idea how much I would tip or even if I would tip.

That may be true, but I'm used to getting bad-mouthed, especially at other forums. If somebody can show me firm and respected tipping guidelines for such situations, I would be happy to entertain the advice.

After looking at the exact payout amount of $6,443,401 I might give the $43,401.
Quote: GMiddieDefinitely was hit. Approximately 10pm Saturday night (Jan 7). My wife and I were playing at the table at the time, immediately to the right of the lucky winner (who was at the far left end seat (Seat #2 technically, with the Dealer being position 1). The deal number came up as a 3, meaning that the winners set of cards was the final pack dealt. Also what was interesting was that the dealer's hand was a full house (6's on the bottom and 4's on the top). Ironic hand in a way, with the prize going out being 6.4 million.

Did you get any envy payout? How crazy did the table go?

Answers in the prior post (I didn't know to hit the quote button to include your question in the reply. Brand new to this..)
Congrats on being at the table when it hit at least
RNG hates me so with my luck it woul have hit at my spot, the hand after i got up
Congrats! Sounds like you made a friend for a lifetime!Quote: GMiddieEnvy payout for the hit was $500. Had the winner had all 7 cards and not 6 with a Joker, it would have been $5,000, so very disappointing that it was just $500 of course. Tom (the big winner) said something like.."Do I have it?" and then stood and began yelling something like "I did it, I did it" (with a bit of language erased from this quote). My wife screamed, the rest of the table began cheering, and then the rest of the casino realized what had just happened. The whole place just erupted. Suddenly there seemed to be people everywhere and it was loud in there. People filling the whole aisle behind us, many taking photos and videos with the pit boss yelling to them fruitlessly that they can't be taking videos here. Ha. Very quickly security as well as a special task force unit arrived and were everywhere. They began clearing the aisle and surrounded the table. The winnings weren't paid out in cash, and they actually went to the high rollers cage area to deal with payouts (of course after the paperwork was signed, cards verified, giant fake check handed to him (and on that note, shame on Flamingo for putting his full name on this) and taking a photo with it. After probably 90 minutes we got our envy, the dealer received the tip money and put it all in the box, and each of us at the table was also given a bit of money from the winner (thanks again for that Tom). He didn't have to do that. We had been there with him for 3+ hours so we really did have a lot of time having conversations. I know I will be asked how much that was and the tip was, but for his privacy I don't want to divulge it (but significantly better than the $5,000 tip that Wizard mentioned earlier in this thread). After all of this, we began to play again - but with a bit less of a top end prize now listed. (Reset to $300,000, but since it had been building again at other casinos and tables during the "Pending Jackpot" phase, it came back on showing something like $302,000 and change already. Oh, had that random number been a 4 or a 5...

Quote: calwatchI wonder if everyone was playing the progressive or were some people in the three or so hours you were there weren't? I would think it's a cost of doing business.

Actually we were there for about 5 hours, but the eventually winner came 2 hours after we got there (so we were with him for about 3 hours). 1 girl came in and played very few hands and was very new to the game. She didn't play the Progressive and of course hit a royal flush, which was also 6 to the 7 card Jackpot. She did get paid on the Fortune Bonus bet however. There was also a guy playing in the table's last position for a few hours who did not play the Progressive. We all kept telling him that might be a mistake. How close to a mistake it certainly was. All others were playing the Progressive while they were there with us.
