There's only an ANTE and BET boxes.
Everyone (including dealer) are dealt 5 cards.
for the price of your ante bet, you can buy a 6th card.

If you decide to play, you must put double the amount of your ante in the BET box, else fold.

What's the name of this game?
And does the Wiz have a page on it?

Oasis Stud Poker. https://bit.ly/3zU1SB3
Oasis Stud Poker is a casino adaptation of the game of Stud Poker and is a very simple yet exciting game to play.
The idea of the game is to make the best 5 card poker hand after being given an option to buy and change either one or two cards... https://bit.ly/3zU1SB3

thx!

Wiz's direct link: https://wizardofodds.com/games/oasis-poker/

The version in my pic is the Nicaragua sub-Variant where you get an extra card instead of switching out a card in your hand.
the extra cost is 1/2 payout on bonus hands.

Good question. My Oasis Poker code is very dusty. To update it for these rules is asking a lot. Weighing the costs and benefits, I don't see that happening for at least a month. Maybe one of the other math geniuses of the forum will rise to the challenge.

I try to go to St. Maarten every year but I have missed the last two years because of Covid. I will be there in May for my anniversary.

I am working on a basic strategy for this game. I just want to verify the order of player decisions/actions.

The first player decision is whether to BUY or NOT BUY.

The second player decision is whether to RAISE or FOLD. If the player has previously made a BUY decision, the RAISE or FOLD decision is based upon the knowledge of all 6 cards in his hand (i.e., his best 5-card poker hand from the 6 cards.)

Correct?

yes, buy (with same amount of the ante) or not.
and yes to point #2: You can still fold after looking at all 6 cards.

also, the dealer must have AK or better in his 5 card hand to qualify else the Raise is a push.
And before you decide whether to buy another card of not, the dealer turns over 1 of his cards.
