What would you guess is the record for the most times a number has repeated in a live Roulette game? I figure 5 is probably the record. Could it possibly be 6? 4 seems light. Thoughts?

I'd be betting that a number hits 7 times in 15 spins, but works better for betting on ties in Baccarat.

I assume you did the math and discovered 37^6 is in the billions, 10^9
however, "The game has been played in its present form since as early as 1796 in Paris" per wikipedia page, so a conservative estimate on how many times the wheel has been spun is what? Surely today it is spun many billions of times daily, maybe trillions? That it has been many spun billions of times daily on average for some 220 years, even figuring at the beginning there was only one wheel, is not something I would bet against.
So if I can argue that less than a billion, say 10^8 times daily , is very conservative, for 365 days, 10^2, and some 220 yrs, 10^2, we come to 10^12, one trillion. Has to be very conservative, my gut tells me. I am going to go with 10 trillion, making the chances of something happening that is 1 in a trillion approach certainty.
Conclusion: I would wager heavily 8 times in a row has been seen at least once since 1796, since 37^8 puts it in 10^12, i.e. trillions. But I would not be shocked at 10 times in a row

the next time Dame Fortune toys with your heart, your soul and your wallet, raise your glass and praise her thus: Thanks for nothing, you cold-hearted, evil, damnable, nefarious, low-life, malicious monster from Hell! She is, after all, stone deaf. ... Arnold Snyder

A friend of mine gave me this photo a few years ago. It's now on my Poker For Roulette web site.
He swears it really happened.
Sands, Bethlehem, PA. Photo courtesy of Adam I., a friend of the Poker For Roulette team. Adam happened to walk up to the Roulette table after the second time the 5 hit. Since 5 is one of his numbers, he played the 5 and with it hitting another five times, he parlayed it up to a nice payday before finally taking the picture. Too bad this happened in a casino that does not yet have Poker For Roulette.

Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood? 😁
