There are a few parts I thought were exaggerated or contradicted themselves, but otherwise I am in agreement with it. The title I take either to be a joke and/or a shameless way to get YouTube hits.
I would like the remind the forum that teliot is a forum member in good standing and thus enjoys insult protection.
The question for the poll is what do you think the video?
Thanks for posting this. I've been making a ton of baccarat videos lately covering a wide variety of topics. This title is not a joke -- I give three ways to make millions, and in my opinion the prescription is super fun. But, yeah, for 99.9% of the baccarat players who get to that point in the video, they will not like what they hear.
As for being retired -- damn Covid. My travel plans are on hold. The three or four volunteer activities that were keeping me busy are on hold. I can only play so much banjo. So, yeah, I figured I'd turn out a bit more "product;" it helps to pass the time. Only, this time I'm taking an educational approach. Rather than AP stuff, it's mostly educational for innumerate gamblers and casino management. So far the reception has been underwhelming.
For that matter, is the pronounciation different if we're talking about:
(a) the game that's "three-handed Chemin de Fer" rather than the game also known as Punto Banco;
(b) the Chemin de Fer term for a hand of zero (James Bond uses it that way in the original Casino Royale, I think);
(c) the brand of crystal?
Quote: EliotJThanks Mike. I lost track of the email address I used for "teliot" and so I can't reset the password. Forgive this duplicate account. If you can fix teliot for me, much appreciated.
You're welcome.
I'm afraid the duplicate account can't be forgiven. After Buzz and Monet, we have a zero tolerance policy against it. I also don't think that any we can change your Email on file, even manually, as that information is encrypted. I would suggest trying every Email you know about about in our password reset form.
most of the bogus claims are no longer about betting progressions
most of them are about bet selection
the vid mentions betting on streaks but its much more than that is out there
it involves deciphering patterns and then making your bet
for example:
when the results are :
B B P B P P -
the next bet should be B for some ridiculous reason that usually isn't even given
total nonsense but it succeeds in suckerizing lots of followers of these scammers
the guy is definitely an expert
the title of the vid and the words he speaks at the beginning:
"A Super Fun and Easy Way to Make Millions at Baccarat"
this is itself very deceptive and misleading
these methods are valid but they're in no way either "Super Fun" or "Easy"
and they have been known about for years, probably decades - except for edge sorting which became widely known a few years ago due to the Phil Ivey case - and casinos have probably taken measures re the quality control aspects of card manufacturing to ensure that it is unlikely to happen again
and the number of those who have made millions using these methods is very, very small
Mike, thanks for getting my old account up and running. I apologize for the inconvenience this caused you.Quote: WizardYou're welcome.

Onward!
I don't address that directly, but I think that's equivalent to my first point about following the board and patterns. Yes, it would have been good for me to more directly say this.Quote: lilredroosterI follow the fraudsters and their bogus claims

You're welcome. You are WoV forum member #10, by the way.
Is that binary :)? Yes, I recall 2009 when this was all starting out and our conversations and some of the initial work I did reviewing hotels & casinos. Congratulations on the long run of your forum.Quote: WizardYou're welcome. You are WoV forum member #10, by the way.

Thank you! I remember your advice on running a forum, which I believe was before I the launch date. It took me a few years to realize it, but your advice was spot on.
Well done, good job.Quote: teliot
Thanks, Eliot.
Click bait was absolutely in my mind with that title -- just go to YouTube and look at the outrageous titles these scammers give their baccarat videos. I only wish there were a couple more 0's on the views. But having a geeky mathematician telling folks to get an education is not a very sexy way to sell truth.Quote: BleedingChipsSlowlyDuh! Of course the title is click bait. But maybe, just maybe, a few people will view the video and avoid either becoming scam victims or just risking money they can’t afford to lose on a strategy that won’t win.
My advice was based on running cardcounter.com for 3 years. I endured numerous physical threats, stalking, hacking and trolling. I am not sure the exact advice I gave you, but surely I made you aware of just how bad it could get.Quote: WizardThank you! And then there is Norm's quite famous advice for anyone wanting to run a gambling forum: "Don't!"
