The joker is fully wild in this game.

Pay outs are
7 card straight flush 500:1
5 aces 250:1
5 of kind 200:1
royal 100:1
straight flush 50:1
4 of kind 25:1
full house 5:1
flush 3:1
straight 2:1

what is this house edge for this bonus bet?

and in the main game of pai gow what is the house edge on standard bet when the joker is fully wild?

Wow, they took away 3oak completely. Lowered flush, royal, 5aces, and 7 card sf, though it appears you can use the joker for that last one. And no envy bonus either?
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

It should not change the house edge to any significant degree. Both player and house will have slightly better hands, not neither more often than the other. I believe that this rule change will result in slightly fewer copy hands so perhaps the house edge will drop maybe 1/100 of a percent.

Runlikegod777,

This cannot be answered without knowing the "house way".

First let's discuss a rough basic strategy for playing your hand when the joker is fully wild.

Joker + 6 unpaired cards (no straight or flush)

Play the joker in your back hand and the 1st and 3rd highest of your other cards in the front hand.

Example: Joker- KQT542; arrange it as KT in front and Joker-Q542 (pair of queens) in the back.

Joker + 1 pair,

Always make the highest possible 2 pairs, then play the two pairs according to conventional strategy.

Do not make trips! Do not make a straight or flush unless it can be played with a pair in your 2-card hand.

Joker + 2 pair,

Always use the joker to make 3oaK of the smaller pair and play that in the back hand, arrange the higher pair in the front hand.
So many better men, a few of them friends, are dead. And a thousand thousand slimy things live on, and so do I.

you can use the joker for any of the bonuses, but there is no envy bonus. Can anyone calculate the house edge on this bonus bet? I care more about this bonus bet than the main game. (as the main game seems to be very close to regular pai gow when joker not wild)

so far I have this information
I have completed PGP poker hands that amount to a probability of about 99.63%. Here are the results, so far:

7 Card Str Flush: 2.833E-10
5 Aces: 0.000010457
5 of a Kind: 0.00043736
Royal Flush: 0.00005049
Str Flush: 0.00059937
4 of a Kind: 0.006891
Full House: 0.039359
Flush: 0.0347139
Straight: 0.0712604
Other: 0.84291

Based on these numbers, I calculate that the return is -0.10207, or a house edge of 10.207%.

Can anyone confirm if this # sounds pretty close to correct?

You can use the probabilities at https://wizardofodds.com/games/poker/#toc-PlayerMustUseEveryCard . Just scroll up to Seven Card Stud — One Joker. You'll still need to pull out the 7 card straight flushes from the royal and straight flushes. And split the 5 aces from the 5 of a kind
