I am a dealer at a casino where they allow a player to bank and play two hands. I find this to be pointless essentialy you are allowing the player a free chance at the bonus, whether it be the pai gow insurance or fourtune wager since we offer both. I have also had some floors tell me that the player can only do so If they play two hands at 50 dollars. But this would allow the player to bet table min thenn bank at 50 when the house edge goes down without having to play the previous hand at 50 dollars. Is it better for the house to let the player bank and play two hands since the other hand would be dead anyways but at least they get the bonus bet more then likely. What do you think? Should the house allow for the player to play two hands while banking?

I'm having a hard time visualizing the banking player playing two hands. Do the other players go against two hands? Or does the banking player play against himself? Whatever happens, the house should let the players bet on the side bets as many times as possible. If ran a casino I'd let the players back bet the side bets on every hand. The side bets generally carry the biggest house edge.

I have said many times that if casinos had a seperate pit with nothing but side bets, there would be more people there than playing the regular games.

Not a half-bad idea ;-)

The players only play against the banked hand and not the second hand, the secondhand would be a push since the banker is banking their own money. And we don't take commision here in washington state so they don't even get that off the free hand.

Thanks. My reply is still the same, give the player as many chances at the casino's money as you can. I'd let him play the bonus bets on every position, and not even require a primary pai gow bet.

Please explain how the house makes money if there is no commission? It can't be just on the copy hands...

From the additional side bet wager.

Yes it can. The house edge under the Washington no-commission rule, and no player banking, is 1.2%. The side bets also help.
