Is it possible to establish averages for 37 spins of a European wheel?
How many numbers should be hit?
How many multiples can be expected?
What sizes will the multiples be?

I guess there is no way I can tell which is the 37th spin or which of those prior numbers will re-appear, but is there any advantage to determining that there have been few repeats and so a repeat is more likely?

I do not see any advantage.
One can start tracking roulette spins from spin 1 to 37, then start over. Of course some one else could walk up and start tracking from spin #5 to spin 41 and have 37 spins. The number of unique numbers would be close to each other since both players are sharing many the same spins.
Now spins 38 to 74 and get another group of unique numbers. But only a 20% chance of getting 24 uniques and 13 repeats. And no guarantees on what numbers repeat.
Just another case of empirical data vs. theoretical.
nice to see be not very useful information

You are probably right. However, once you get well into the set, depending on trends, you can chase either the multiples or the gaps.
But, my experience has been that once they determine what strategy you are using, on their ever vigilant surveillance, you get a dramatic increase in either unique numbers or multiples.
I've seen up to 30 uniques and repeats up to 7.
Coincidence? Perhaps I'm just paranoid.
That's the main reason I raised this thread. Because there should be some way of applying the data you provided to determine whether or not these wheels do produce truly random numbers.

Um, who are 'they'? And how are they causing certain numbers to appear?

If you were to take a VERY long look at a wheel's results, you MAY discover a bias. But we're talking LONG LOOKS - like several days at a bare minimum. Probably more like a couple weeks, with 12 hour per day of observations.
The casino is already doing this.
Those displays on the roulette table that show recent results, also feed those results into the casino's computers to check for wheel bias.
Long before you get a chance to take your long term observations and do anything with them, the casino will already have discovered a bias (if it exists) and taken measures to fix it.

I invented a few casino games. Info:

I guess I'm just a conspiracy theorist.
I was only talking about one particular casino in Australia and I wasn't referring to wheel bias.
More like actual control of the wheel.
I don't think there should be electronic gadgets like chip sorters anywhere near the wheel.
The government seems to be very apathetic about regulating these places properly.
