I ran into something this weekend at the Isle of Capri in Biloxi that I had not seen before. They only collect the commission on the "buy" bet if you win. I was betting this regularly as the 4/10 were appearing fairly often. I was rolling later in the evening when a gent came up and bet $1100 across ($200 4/5/9/10, $150 6/8). The attention he got made me a little nervous when I was shooting--suits appeared out of thin air because he wanted to do "player control" on a good dealer bet but they would not let him due to a recent rule change in the casino.

I noticed that every time he won the 4/10 buy bets, he took them down and went with another amount. What they did was not charge ANY commission on the 4/10 buy bet if you took it down. I asked about it the next morning when I had a 4/10 buy and a come bet. The come roll was a 10, so the dealer moved my bet to the 10 and set my buy bet as odds on it. When he paid the buy bet win, there was no commission. I asked and he said that if you took the buy bet down and changed the bet, they did not charge the commission.

Is this a common rule?

They also had the "all small" "all tall" and "everything bets". 34 to 1 on the first two, $175 on all the numbers.
The all small/all tall paid fairly frequently.

I enjoyed the evening of craps play...I just should have skipped the other games!! Oh well...we had a great time!!

I've never seen it, but commissions on a win has been discussed here before. It's a small difference, but one a player should look for.

NO commission if you take it down? WOW! That's HUGE! Unless I'm mistaken, that makes the 4/10 a NO EDGE bet!
I invented a few casino games. Info: http://www.DaveMillerGaming.com/ ————————————————————————————————————— Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood? 😁

I guess I did not word the original post very well. I have heard of the commission on the win only before; this was the first time I have played with that particular rule. The new twist was the lack of any commission on bets won and taken down.

The Grand Casino in Biloxi also had the win only commission but I think (based on hearing the bigger bettor talking) the Isle was the only one in town with the commission removed when the won bet was taken down. He simply took down the $200 won bet, collected the win, and went back up with $100 or some other number. He was very clear in taking the winning bet down and then placing a new bet rather than simply reducing the bet.
