From what I've heard and my interpretation....

Most decent off-strip casinos tend to make $80-100 a night in tokes. Lower end strip stores are $90-110/night. Average strip store is probably $130-150/night. The best casinos (Wynn/Encore, Aria, Bellagio, Caesars) make like $180/night. Sometimes they get a big score like $500 because a whale won big and toked big too.

Places like sunset station and other similar casinos, I think they make like $70-90/nights.

Break in houses can make anywhere from average $20/nights up to $60/night.

If you want to work at one of the big stores (Wynn/Encore, Aria, Bellagio, Caesars), you gotta know someone to get in.

If you already deal, go apply at a decent casino off-strip and tell them where you've worked and experience. Sometimes they'll send you to the pit and talk to a pit boss or shift manager.

If you want to deal, there are several dealer schools here in town.

Check with your current employer. Hollywood owns the M Resort Spa Casino in LV.

Also if this is a longer term goal, look at changing employers to MGM in Detroit or Horseshoe in Cleveland as I would think you would have a better chance getting a job at their LV locations if they have direct knowledge of your skills/experience.

Good places to work:
Cosmo, Aria, MGM, Bellagio, Venetian, Wynn, Encore, Red Rock, Hard Rock.

everything else would be pay check to pay check or barely enough for anything.
Red Rock is the only good Stations casino to work for, the rest of them are pretty bad.

don't bother with M and South Point they don't do more than 100/night average.

It's Vegas. It doesn't matter how good you are if you don't know anybody you won't get nowhere.

I don't think their money is the best, but the vast majority of the dealers I have met at Planet Hollywood seem truly happy to be there... I think management is much more "chill" and it shows in the demeanor of their dealers. I have played almost exclusively PGP at PH, so my sample size is crap.

I forgot to add Hard Rock is actually a very good place to work for too. I know a dealer that works there and she's banked on it. It's not what you know, it's who you know. If your connection is deep, and you got the juice it's worth it.

I just returned from 4 nights downtown. Talking to the dealers at the Plaza I learned they are all temps. They aren't actually employed by the casino.

How prevalent is that?

It's a trend in Vegas. Nobody offer Full Time jobs anywhere. It's all Part time or (On Call) they call it. They don't want to pay for insurance, benefit package. And because of Obama Care, they squeeze dealers out here even tighter. Dealing job in Vegas is DONE! To be honest, if you can get into big house then go for it. But otherwise don't bother to move out here, the whole industry to so saturated it's not even worth it to work in the casino anymore unless you can put the suit up.
