What is your experience with Pai Gow Poker -how many hands per hour are usually dealt? With a full table and one-on-one? I figure that its in the range of 12 to 20 hands per hour (with a full table), but I've never actually kept count.

A good dealer can probably keep a full table around 25-30 hands per hour, 12 hph sounds pathetically slow. Do you really think you're only getting a new hand every five minutes? I really don't think that's normal.

Heads up, I can have hit 50 hands per hour, if not 60+.

Wizard says a "major strip casino" rates PGP at 34 hph:

25-30 sounds about right. A full table should be about 2:30 per hand, so 25-30 is right about where you should be.

Obviously any big bonus payouts, fills, and shuffler malfunctions may slow the game down, but I can't see losing more than 5 minutes per hour to these. You should never dip below 20 hands per hour unless it's hand-dealt.

And what would your estimate for hand dealt be? Basing it off memory, which may be exaggerated, I want to say about 10hph with 2 spots.

Last (and only) time I played hand-dealt, I ended up taking a bathroom break every three hands. Probably didn't help there was a self-serve fountain about five steps away.

A full table at the D downtown Vegas its a real slow game because its a combination 3 card poker and Pai Gow poker.
They deal 3 cards 1st for 3 card poker.
For those playing 3 card poker, those bets have to be resolved.
Then you get 4 more cards for Pai Gow poker.
Very slow game at the D.
Its just a forum. Nothing here to get obsessed about.

I know the wizard has a hands per hour table, but has that been updated recently? I am extremely interested in finding out what casinos are rating players based on time x average bet x "perceived" house edge.

Paid gow is a great game for rating since its low volatility and pushes. But because of that I wonder if even betting $1000 per hand is still like $100-500 for a blackjack player.

Harrah's PB's have told me several times over the years that PGP is the single worst game they offer for ratings purposes. I don't know the specifics, but it's because of the low volatility and many pushes, as well as the low house edge.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

I played this quite a bit last month; even with the 3 card sidebet, The D is dealing it at 25-30 hph (my estimate, seeing about 14 dealers). It's the one I had my disputed wild Royal at.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.
