New rules in Nevada This may also include table games. How do you see the impacts of this on independent gaming mathematicians, thus game inventors? It seems to be more expensive for small entities.

Sounds like they are turning over the testing over to a private firm. What changes that will mean remain to be seen.

Where did you see that it means things will get more expensive? It's not that I doubt you, but you make it sound like you read that somewhere.

It's more own experience. Right now, GCB in Vegas charges applicant $150 per hour for its engineers and $110 ($120?) for agents to review games. Do U think the approved independent testing lab would charge less than these rates?

Ya never know. Sometimes when a government operation is privatized, they have ways of reducing costs, etc.

Im going make a couple of guesses here:

Guess #1 The change was made to cut government costs

Guess #2 Private companies can do the testing faster and cheaper than a government agency can

Guess #3 Private companies will speed the approval process for new games

Guess #4 The public will never see a difference

Guess #5 The equipment makeres probably pushed for the change -- if not openly, then behind the scenes. And why not? They probably agree that the government tests took too long.

Teddy, I hope you are an Independent Testing Lab. GLI wants $12,000 for certifying a blackjack side-bet, go figure it out. Sure, I will never know.

I did my own side bet math, but I asked GLI once to provide a quote for analysis + regulatory letter in Indiana and the figure was only $2500 or so. And the cost of the letter itself is about $1000, so I understand, meaning they weren't estimating more than 10 hours on analysis. How could you possibly have a side bet that costs $12,000 to analyze?

As ME said, this is way too high; I've had games analyzed at GLI for far less, and I imagine they were more complicated than a blackjack side bet. In general, GLI is pretty comparable to NGCB, but there is a huge benefit to GLI if you are submitting to multiple jurisdictions. If you feel like GLI is charging you unfairly, you may want to look at BMM as well.
I heart Crystal Math.
