Is it unusual for Wiz to be quoted?

Not that the article doesn't have other points.

I almost forgot about that one. Reporters contact quite a lot about any gambling story. It was quite ridiculous when the MegaMillions went past 300M.

I thought it was funny how Harrah's referred the Cleveland Plain Dealer to the wizardofodds.com when they asked about "games and rules":

http://www.cleveland.com/datacentral/index.ssf/2012/05/cleveland_casino_games_rules_a.html

Clearly the best site but just pushing them to the Wizard. I doubt they asked the Wizard before that.

Permission could have been requested beforehand. The Wizard has quite a midwest following. There are members of the board who are connected to the media.

I have no problem with that, and am always honored that people in the industry use my site as a trusted source.

Come now. Permission to reveal the address of a publicly available website? How many here have referred people to the WoO site, and how many asked permission first?

You no more need a permission to link to a website than you need a city council's permission to speak of locations in the city.

It's one of the pretty basic tenets of internet, although it's hard to imagine how it could be otherwise.
