Hi!

As part of my forthcoming Vegas trip I will be making some sports bets way above my normal bankroll. I'm not saying I'm placing bets on behalf of a third party, since that's probably illegal, but it's working out where I'm going to be placing bets of $1,000 (probably in the form on 4x$250) on some NCAA final four games.

It suddenly struck me today that there might be some sort of comp opportunity here. I know if I were betting multiple blacks at a table game I'd be taken care of in lots of places, but obviously sports betting is a different story. So, is a grand in action worth anything? I don't know if cocktail waitresses circle the sports betting area, but that's of minimal value to me since I play table games anyways (just for red chips...). But do they give out drink coupons I could redeem when I'm not playing? Or, even better, buffet comps? I'll have a car, so if it makes a difference I can place the bets at any sports book.

Thanks for any and all help!

I doubt $1000 worth of sports tickets is worth anything...
Hell, at my haunt, you HAVE to bet a $20 ticket to even get a fucking drink toke!

$1000 in action is worth about $45 to the sportsbook. If it was a table game, 20% of that would be $8 in comps. But as the sports book runs on thinner margins (or so I'm led to believe), and your not giving action over time, I reckon you'll get very little more than a free drink like the rest of schmoes.

I know some places will give you preferential seating if your give enough action before big games. But I think it's big action, on multiple occasions that would get you that.

Interesting link on this topic. If you place a bunch of $250 bets maybe they will give you a buffet, but likely all you will get from them is a couple drinks on the house.
