No, not Mike. the real Shakleford.
TENTH RACE: THE DONN HANDICAP (G1)
9 SHACKLEFORD, who used his speed to come within a head of winning the Grade 1 Florida Derby last year, was even more impressive when winning the Grade 1 Preakness Stakes in May, and then ending a fantastic year with a second place finish in the Grade 1 Breeders Cup Dirt Mile. Hes the speed of the speed, and he loves the local surroundings.
My bet is a 4 year old maiden named ONLY WIN in the 3rd race at Turfway park. Stepping down from a fast race in which she finished 3rd, entered today for a 50% drop in claiming value and a decrease in purse value of 22%. Would have won next to last race but she was steadied and blocked in stretch.
Might parley on Shackleford for a "safety" play.

Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood? 😁

I imagine Wiz would beat a horse up a bunch of stairs. Horses would have to take them very slowly.
Regardless, this race sets up perfectly for the horse Shackleford. But the price will not be good enough to bet on him. My guess is that he finishes 2nd or 3rd.

SActually Shakleford finished 6th. Thats what happens in a $500,000 without a tuneup. MY maiden play ran second. Not saying it was a boat race ,but Turfway 6f split in a mile race at 1.17.and 3/5 sure don't look right LOL
