Mens basketball
USA vs Serbia
Very exciting
USA behind deep into 3rd quarter
link to original post

Caught Charles Barkley saying he was worried about Serbia yesterday. Something like, when you only have to win one game all you need is a good day and a bad day for the other team.

edit: well you generally need some talent also!

Looked like USA was getting embarrassed
Down by double digits.
USA made a furious run
Tied with over 3 min left
What a game
When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

So Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone wins Olympic gold with record run. She ran away from her closest competitor, Femke Bol from Netherlands in decisive fashion All this woman does is win meets and set world records during big competitions. Just like Duplantis does in the pole vault.

Noah Lyles is a tool for racing with COVID and exposing those around him. That being said, it's a testament to his skill for winning bronze while afflicted.

Gutsy showing for Cole Hawker, stunning the world with his victory in the men's 1500m.

Don't remind me - I watched the second half from the sports book at the Paris, and the book had continuously updated odds on the game - and USA was something like +225 at the start of the fourth quarter. I had a feeling they were going to pull it off, but didn't pull the trigger on it.

Amit Elor USA
Women's wrestling
Wow
Talk about dominance
Only lost 2 points entire Olympics
Totally dominating as one match stopped due to "technical superiority"
She is so dominating, coach surprised she gave up 2 lol
Only 20 years old
Has not lost in 5 years. Incredible

This was the first time I watched women's Olympic wrestling. There were some very good matches in the early rounds. The American women did very well.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

"Technical superiority" is also known as a "technical fall" in college and high school wrestling - think of it as wrestling's version of the "run rule." If a wrestler is ahead by 10 or more points (8 or more in Greco-Roman), the match ends immediately.

Mens Pole vault gold medal winner Sweden
He hasn't missed a jump
Seems he cleared the gold medal height by a foot
Not even close to the bar
The gold medal winner has the right to go again
Went for Olympic record after already winning gold
Clears height easily
Incredible
He is now going for the world record

Added edit
He missed the world record
His only miss
Has the right to 2 more tries if he wants to

Added edit
He missed again. So close. Has huge height to clear, just not perfect form
Looks like he's gonna try again
Very exciting

Added edit
He did it
World record
Incredible

In the early 60's, I believe the world PV record was 15' plus.

At a NCAA sanctioned track meet a participant soared over the bar at 18'2". The meet officials huddled quickly and disqualified participant and disallowed the new WR.

Why? (Any guesses? Wizard?)

I'm interested in looking into this
Can you give anymore information on this incident
I can't find it
I'm guessing a rule was broken

Give it a little time. Sort of an "easy math puzzle." Wizard?

Clever
Over the head for me 😉

Sorry, it took so long for me to get back on this, but terapined is CORRECT, a "rule" was broken.

The participant did NOT use a pole.

Explanation: I am an old, short, fat, dumpy dude, and this is a very old joke. Feel free to use it in the future.
